Space NK 2020 Advent Calendar Thread

Hi,

I normally get the M&S calendar but went for the Beauty Anthology II from Space NK this year. Would be great to share the openings, discuss the products and do any swaps with anyone else with this one.

Please only discuss current day or previous days to avoid spoilers for people

I think it is fair to say you can post about the current day from 7am so people know to avoid the thread after that time if they haven’t opened yet.

Looking forward to this!

I tried the hair mask again and I really do think it’s making my hair feel nicer and softer!
Pleased with today’s offering.

I have never used bronzer before. I will have to look at some tutorials to see if I think I might use it or if I should swop it.

I usually use a wee cheapo bronzer so pleased to get the chance to try Nars.

Used the retinol/vitamin c cream last night and really like it. It also smells like orange Matchmakers which is a bonus.

I was excited when I saw the brand cos I've heard a few people getting Chantecaille in advents on the other thread. Not sure about this product for me though, it says on the website it's good for more mature skin. I'm 30 with no wrinkles or anti-ageing concerns really (yet). Should still be nice as an overnight moisturising mask I'd think.

I’m happy with today’s & will definitely use it. I liked the look of some chantecaille eyeshadows, but they were so expensive.

I’ve used the rich cream today as I’m not wearing any make up. The grease smears on my phone were awful, so I deffo won’t wear under make up.

I love a face mask!

Must remember to use the hair mask tonight as it's rest day today so for once my hair isn't freshly washed anyway or got dried sweat on it Grin

Hair mask is ok. I was worried it looked a little greasy last night but it's good this morning and doesn't need a wash. It's maybe marginally softer, but the olaplex is way better for my hair.

Hand cream today. I will gift this to my best friend as she has an allotment and an outpatient job in NHS with all the hand sanitizer so she needs it more than I do!

I know this is a very expensive hand cream but it feels a bit flat for 22nd December. I mean, it's hand cream. I get very dry hands and £5 Aveeno is the best thing for them.

Used the retinol/vit C again last night and my face was so nippy this morning when I was putting my moisturiser on. I was using it every other night but think I need to use it less frequently.

ashmts, there is more prefume in that retinol/vit c cream than there is retinol or vitamin c. Perfume is higher on the ingredient list. There are a lot of reports from people with sensitive skin to say it does not suit - have a look through the reviews on space nk and just watch how your skin reacts to it.

I am happy with the hand cream. I too prefer basic LRP hand cream but it's nice treat in year that we wash & use alcohol sanitizers so much

@MiaN I did have a look when I initially opened it and saw all those reviews. I don't really have sensitive skin and I was fine with it the first night I put it on. It actually felt a bit like when you have mild sunburn and put moisturiser on so I think it might be cos I didn't use SPF the day after I last used it. Thought it was unnecessary as we only get daylight about 6 hours a day and I'm barely outside but I put SPF on this morning anyway. Should probably get into the habit of doing it daily anyway.

I’ve not really got sensitive skin but I agree with @ashmts. The Kate Somerville cream made my face a bit sore with only one day break in between uses. I do like it, but I’ll use it sparingly.

One year I got the byredo bal d’afrique hand cream in the Liberty advent calendar & despite not being one for perfumed hand cream I loved it and am deffo going to buy the bal d’afrique perfume in the summer. Today’s smells nice & I will use it.

@MiaN I also had an extremely sore, red, burning face after using the Kate Somerville cream. Puffy eyes and bumpy skin. Still not back to normal!

This subsided a bit with antihistamines so I am fairly sure for me it was an allergic reaction as opposed to anything else, as I have used retinol before.

Soooo..... if anyone loves this cream and would like to have mine (minus a couple of pumps) PM me Smile

Lady day for me today as I opened the last one first!!! It’s been so lovely and I will really miss my daily treat! Wish now I’d bought one for January!

Today’s was a bit meh but it will get used at some point. In fact, I don’t think there was anything I won’t use so that’s quite amazing really!

I like today’s, I’ve never used it, but I always like a cleanser. I’ve already opened tomorrow’s too as I mainly bought the calendar for that & the perfume.

Im impressed with this calendar & will repurchase.

I like today's too, used it this morning and thought it was nice.

I opened tomorrow's on Saturday when Boris cancelled Christmas - I'd sort of guessed what it was and really needed a boost. Needless to say it was lovely and I've been using it sparingly all week. I want it to last forever!

All in all, I've loved having this every day. It was a real splurge as I usually get the Look Fantastic one, but they annoyed me this year and I voted with my feet. Will definitely push the boat out again next year, as it's made some proper shitty days feel a little bit brighter.

I’ve had testers of today’s cleansers before and it’s fine. I knew it was coming in the calendar and it wasn’t something I was at all excited about!

My usual cleanser is almost done and I haven't replaced as I'm likely getting some for Christmas so this will bridge the gap nicely. I opened tomorrow's too as I remembered it being on the list when I looked in September so no point keeping it a 'surprise' for tomorrow.

I've really loved this calendar. Not everything has been a hit for me personally although all good products, and I'd have rearranged the dates for some of the products, e.g. separating the exfoliants, self-tan in early December, but that's my only complaint. I haven't had a chance to try everything out yet so looking forward to going back through it all and having a go. I'm sure there will be some repurchases.

I've got two other cleansers so this won't get used for a bit but I can't expect Space NK to know that Smile

I've been really happy with mine and pleased I pushed the boat out. I think it's a really good mix of make up, skin care, hair stuff as well as the perfume. I will definitely be checking this one next year and seeing if anything can beat it.

I love the candle, it was one of the reasons I picked this calendar.

Also I got an email from space NK of access to their sale and have purchased a brush for the eye shadow palette and a hourglass palette. Happy Christmas to me!
