Space NK 2020 Advent Calendar Thread

Hi,

I normally get the M&S calendar but went for the Beauty Anthology II from Space NK this year. Would be great to share the openings, discuss the products and do any swaps with anyone else with this one.

Please only discuss current day or previous days to avoid spoilers for people

I think it is fair to say you can post about the current day from 7am so people know to avoid the thread after that time if they haven’t opened yet.

I’m stuck with hands as I don’t brush - curly girl. But I’ll go for damp hair as that feels less likely to make my hair look lank. Oil in general isn’t friendly to my hair.

My favourites so far are the Drunk Elephant mask, hair and bath oil. Good size and I like the products

Paula's choice and the capsules I will keep for travel
not fan of hyaluronic acids serums so I don't care too much for it

Hourglass ambient light I have already and I gifted it
Dry shampoo and Ren aren't products i would use, I passed them on

3 Products gifted out of 9, 1 luxury product that I don't care much about
2 I will keep for travel
3 great size products I am loving.

I think because I like so much the 3 and the size is great I am loving the advent.

Today’s was okay. I’ll use it, it seems to be a favourite of advent calendars and beauty boxes! It’s not one to be excited by, or that I’d buy.

The Olaplex I put a few drops through the ends of my hair when it was towel dry and then did a blue dry finish. Worked really well and my hair was bouncy and glossy but I think it will need washing quicker than normal.

I will never pay full cost for hand cream but it is lovely to get to try! It's very nice.

Oh mine is Malin and Goetz hand and body wash today? It's a good size but I wouldn't be paying £20 for soap! Looks like it can be used as shower gel or bubble bath too so I'll probably do that so it last longer. The amount I wash my hands it would be gone in under a week.

I have the hand and body wash too. I usually just use cheap supermarket soap so I am actually quite pleased to have something I would never buy. I am going to use it as hand wash and enjoy it, have just tried it now and it is very nice.

oh no sorry, I opened the advent last month and have my days mixed up (again). that body wash is divine!

@MiaN I don't mean to be rude but as that's happened a couple of times do you think you could wait till later in the day to post? At least until a couple of those of us opening daily have confirmed what we've got? I can totally understand that if you opened it a while ago you get mixed up but it is slightly ruining the surprise for me. At least you didn't say the brand.

@Dailyhandtowelwash if you’re CGM just beware that reviews are saying the olaplex is silicone heavy. I’ve not read the ingredients so can’t confirm. But it’s what put me off.

@DesperatelySeekingSunshine Ah, thanks. I'm not proper curly girl though, just an amateur, and I definitely fail on silicone fairly often. I'll give it a quick go and see waht happens.

And quite happy with today's, especially the size. I like M&G and find the scent lasts a decent amount of time.

I’ve put yesterday’s in the cupboard under the sink. It will get used, as a hand wash.

Today’s I’m not very super impressed with & will regift.

I wasn't expecting to like it at all @offredismysister but I actually love it and will repurchase. Worth a try in my opinion

Laura Mercier caviar volume mascara today. Never tried this and happy to get make-up as it's been a while since we had some. @Offredismysister have you used this before? Just wondering why you're not impressed. I tend to stick to the same mascara as it's not something you can test out in a shop (like you can swatch lipstick, eyeliner etc) so getting a wee tester is quite handy.

I think I opened the wrong box. Today’s was a hair mask?

I hate mini mascaras usually as I find them hard to apply but this one really impressed me.

Love getting mascaras.

Eek I checked & I definitely did open the wrong box. I love a mascara & my last mini has just ran out. At least I know I’ll be happy tomorrow.

After the spoiler I was a bit disappointed that the hair mask is a spray as it seemed a bit weird. However the reviews are very good and actually one of the the things I like about beauty advent calendars is to get me to try new things so I am looking forward to giving it a go!

I have few IDK favorites. I have not tried this mask but their leave in conditioner - mistress is my favorite and I have repurchased several times. Would love to try it.

Happy with the mini mascara as my current body shop one is awful.

Looking forward to trying the mask too. I just used the olaplex and my hair is amazingly silky soft. I don't think I am going to want to go back to my Charlotte something oil.... I hate waste but it's nowhere near as good.

Really looking forward to trying the mask tonight... my hair definitely needs some TLC.
Tried the Eve Lom oil capsules last night, felt lovely but the smell was a bit off putting.

I’ve just found you all! I am really loving my calendar! I’ve had Liberty for the past two years but I always felt it was super limited by size. I was naughty and opened the last gift first as I wanted to enjoy it throughout December!

Very excited to try today’s too!
