In search of a Comfy dress for Christmas Day

Looking for something comfortable and relaxed rather than sequins and sparkle! With a festive edge without it having a "fun" print on it. I had seen a tartan tunic in Sainsburys that was like a fleece that was ok but I didn't rush to buy it as not massively stylish!

I'm size 16-18 5'6 and would wear with 80 denier tights. Knee length or just above. Hoping someone has seen something. I trawled HM and couldn't see anything. We're not going anywhere just a home with our Christmas bubble!

Have you tried Dorothy Perkins? They tend to have this types of outfits

What about this red knitted dress from Harkel (50% off today)? I have a different knitted dress of theirs and it's super comfy.

P.S. I'm not convinced how accurate their size chart is - I take a 12/14 usually and 12 was a good fit for me, despite their size chart suggesting my bust measurement was somewhere between a 16 and 18 - so maybe size down to 16.

Seasalt have some great dresses - different lengths and prices. Relaxed, comfortable style.

Btw Alyson Walsh featured Seasalt in her blog - some good combinations for Christmas, including some lovely velvets.

@mrssmiling I saw that and act went to seasalt to check out some of the pieces. I liked the cords and the jacket very much. The velvet top seemed a bit expensive though!

Have a look at Yumi too. They have a few that might fit the bill.

This may work

I love it @goose1964 😍 it soo gorgeous. I was thinking more comfy for a nap on the sofa and a few splodges of gravy with a a light smattering of Brandy sauce!

Oh I can't wait! Maybe I should just wear trackies and a hoodie!

Have a look at Roman Originals - yes, really!

LuluJakey1 · 21/12/2020 08:22

I wouldn't waste your money this year.

Ilovemycat13 · 21/12/2020 08:25

I bought one from Tesco! A smock like style in red velvet, it’s lovely. They also do black.

exaltedwombat · 21/12/2020 13:35

Isn't anyone going to question why you need a new outfit for a stay at home Christmas?

cherrypiepie · 21/12/2020 13:38

@exaltedwombat give that I asked this in November it probably a bit late for this now.
