Lip Stain

Hi
I'm fairly new on here , and
Am looking for a really good lip stain. I saw one being used once by one of the 'Kidd' sisters, the make up artist one, rather than the model, on a moring tv show, and it looked like it was in one of those roller ball type things (sorry not a great description)
Has anyone found a really good one please?

she's got her own line of makeup, in larger boots. body shop do one so do benefit.

littleboo · 18/10/2007 12:07

Thanks fishie will have a look.
I did scour Boots yesterday but couldn't find anything that resembled the one on TV.

I use this one, it's a decent price and looks lovely on.
Not sure if it's the one you saw, but it is roller-ball and I've seen it recommended in a few beauty sections.

littleboo · 18/10/2007 12:17

Thanks SV, could have been that one. They didn't give details of the products used and of course looked fab anyway done by a professional. But I'll try one of those and give it a go.
I wish they would at least list some of the products they use after or even put it on their site, its frustrating.
thanks for info

Jemma Kidd Rosy Glow here

fishie · 18/10/2007 12:32

it does look very enticing. i've got a £5 off voucher for jkidd, one of those you get for spending over a certain amount in boots.

littleboo · 18/10/2007 12:44

Now i'll have to check out our bigger Boots cos I can't remember seeing the Joddie Kidd range there. Both the revlon and jk ones look good, the one I saw was probably one of those.
Thanks all.
its just I like the idea of a stain rather than the lipstick, but haven't ever tried one .

I have the Jemma Kidd stain with the rolly-ball and it is good. But, beware - on first usage (and subsequent first usages where the bottle has been unused for a few days) the amount that can come out of can be quite alot (and once on it stays) so have a tissue handy.....

Benetint is also really good as a lip stain but with a brush application is alot easier to apply and makes excellent blusher too (I have both and prefer Benetint)

littleboo · 18/10/2007 16:44

Thanks gemy, have heard the benetint is good, how long does it last on?

Well it depends on how dark you like the stain; for just a light application on lips, then I reckon after 1 glass of wine it's probably on it's way out. For cheeks it lasts me most of the day. Think with either it'd be better to keep a light coat on and re-apply, rather than go for overload and have staying power.

fishie · 18/10/2007 21:30

i had a body shop one a couple of yeras ago which had applicator like 80s lip gloss, that horrid little spongy thing. it was not a success but i think not a good colour for me.

tried bourjois version earlier in superdrug, not impressed. l'oreal have one with a roller but ran out of time so not tested.

am taking ds for train ride tomorrow so we will go to enormous station boots where i will inspect benetint.

Skyler · 18/10/2007 21:35

I love my Benefit benetint stuff. It is expensive but lasts for ages and is a good colour. Recommended! Comes with a brush you apply with and smear with your fingers.

littleboo · 19/10/2007 09:39

Fishie would be really interested to see what you think when you've been to Boots

Thanks everyone, beneitint seems to have thumbs up as well then.... choices, choices

right i am back £22.50 lighter and one benetint puchased. jkidd was slightly orangy and glopped out all over my hand. still there though.

benetint def the nicest colour and consistency.

littleboo · 19/10/2007 14:02

fishie sounds like a good trip. i'll have to go and look over the weekend.
