Leggings for exercise for the seriously flabby of tummy

Looking for a decent pair of leggings for exercise - running, circuits that involve jumping around etc... Issue I have is that I have a major apron tummy that flaps around the place so much it makes me want to stop exercising altogether. I've lost nearly 3 stone weight this year, but it doesn't look its going to shift, its just more... well, deflated

Anyway, I'm wondering would a decent pair of compression leggings help? Any recommendations? I would be a size 16 in M&S workout gear at the minute. Willing to spend a bit if they would stop the flap!

I've bought these herringbone leggings from M&S. They aren't in their sports range, but they have this fantastic high, thick waistband, are once and thick and supportive. I have to have them surgically removed! They do them in black too.

FieldOverFence · 17/11/2020 22:18

Thanks @BBOA they actually look great for normal wear, I might get a pair. Not sure they'll solve my workout problem though, they don't look to be moisture-wicking etc

Tikiboo are my faves. Really supportive, wicking, big back pocket.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 17/11/2020 22:31

More expensive, but I love my sweaty Betty's! I live in them (have about 10 pairs!)

FieldOverFence · 18/11/2020 12:29

Thanks all ! I'm tempted by the sweat bettys alright, but wanted to know if they could contain me before i spent the money Grin

Nike the one leggings are my favourite

KatharinaRosalie · 18/11/2020 13:29

Bara, honestly they are amazing. High waist and no slipping or rolling down. barasportswear.com/

I have these CRZ YOGA Women's Naked Feeling Gym Leggings Squat Proof High Waist Yoga Pants Sports Tights with Pocket from Amazon. They are lovely and supportive without feeling like they cut in. I walk and run in them. Great colour choices from CRZ too.

Fabletics. Sign up, get the two for £24 and cancel. They are the best I've had by a long shot.

sanitygirl · 18/11/2020 14:57

@KatharinaRosalie which Bara tights do you have? They seem to do a lot of style. And would you say they come up long or short? (I'm tall so need them on the longer side)

Sweaty Betty are like a sports bra for the tummy and bum. They hold it in.

What though as they will have a black Friday

The power leggings are my favourite

FieldOverFence · 18/11/2020 15:27

@Newuser991 exactly what I need !! @helloxhristmas i didn't realise you could cancel the subscirtion thingy with fabletics, i always avoided them because of that !

Fabletics power hold (I think they are called). Stay put and are comfy too - good quality mine have lasted ages.

IrkedEssex · 18/11/2020 16:29

I've always found Nike to be good. They have seen me through from obese to healthy weight.

KatharinaRosalie · 18/11/2020 16:54

sanitygirl I have Tundra and one of the Shape range (Breath, currently not in stock I think). I really like the Shape ones, the waistband is really great. I'm 5'6'' and they are plenty long, would fit someone taller as well. They have a Facebook community where people are very helpful, so if you're not sure, join and ask other tall people which ones they recommend.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 18/11/2020 16:58

Sturdy by design are great and Lucy Locket Loves are good too. LLL are not as good for tall people though I found.

Jenda · 18/11/2020 17:02

I wear suck in pants under my workout leggings to try and stop the clapping when I jump! I do feel loads more supportive

OpposableThumbs2 · 18/11/2020 17:32

I second Lucy Locket Loves.

GoatCheeseTart · 18/11/2020 18:08

I bought a pair of Lucy ones based on MN recommendation and had to send them to a charity shop after 2 wears. Fabric too soft to give any support but have this stiff wide rubber band that squeezes any flab into lovely rolls. Can't recommend at all.

HermioneWeasley · 18/11/2020 20:14

Fabletics power hold. I did the two for £24 and then cancelled the VIP membership/subscription (which is just bonkers - who needs new gym wear every MONTH?)

I have these too and I love them! Supposed to be a lululemon dupe but I actually think they're better
ScrapThatThen · 18/11/2020 21:04

Lapasa ones are pretty good.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 19/11/2020 00:09

Yep Lucy Locket too! (I may have over 50 pairs from her Blush)

I'll disagree with fabletics though! Definitely not squat proof! I like the fit but you can see EVERYTHING when I squat!

chatwoo · 19/11/2020 10:15

I've got the Go Move Gym Leggings from M&S. Think they were 25 quid.

They don't fall down, have a drawstring inside the waistband for extra security (or loosening up), have a little pocket at the back with a zip, and a phone size pocket in the leg.

I have spent a lot in the past on pairs that just roll down all the time, but these don't!

Disclaimer: my tops are fairly long so cover my rogue stomach.

RainyDay2020 · 19/11/2020 10:19

I’m reading these with interest as I have a similar problem, thanks for recommendations everyone Smile
