Man Bag advice needed

right. well, I started a thread on this in the 'men's room' section but it dried up and I still need help.
I'm buying dh a leather messenger bag for his birthday next week and have narrowed it down to a few - but can't choose between them.

My DH and I vote for number one - it's gorgeous. Must makwe mental note to buy one for DH (he has a canvas one from Top Shop).

DH has several manbags, which is great , as i don;t have to cart all his stuff around in my bag anymore!

I like the third one - Hoxton despatch - as I like the buckle and stripy bit.

I like the Zailor or the Hoxton

No1 - it's nicely understated and will age better than the others. Might even get it for mine, who normally sports a plastic bag

I've gone for No 1 - the others are lovely but the plainest one is safest I think. The retro styles of the other might age?? Tho my personal favourites are the Hoxton or Zailor ...
I'm very grateful to you all for helping me to make a very difficult decision

I like the second but dh would never use one, he would get the piss ripped out of him at work!
