I’m 5 foot 11, slim, with big boobs, big shoulders, big calves/ankles and big feet.
Nothing fits right apart from Uniqlo , who do tops and jeans that are a good length and fit, but am looking for ideas to widen my choice a bit.
Especially dresses, cardigans, fitted tops (34F), and flat, wide fit shoes.
Please share your favourite clothing brands for tall women?

Cos is my go to for lovely jumpers & Whistles or &otherstories for dresses. ASOS tall range for cheaper stuff & larger shoe sizes. Watching with interest and hope these tips help - I struggled for a lot of years struggling before discovering these shops!

CleverCatty · 03/11/2020 10:31

SIL who's size 8 but 5 ft 10 with small boobs swears by:-

Cos
Arket
Whistles
Comptoir des Cottoniers
Gap
H&M for a few bits
Anthropologie
ASOS tall
Top Shop Tall

In your case you need to find tops etc that flatter and fit your boobs as well as longer body. Pepperberry?

CleverCatty · 03/11/2020 10:31

forgot - Zara is also a source of good stuff for her - some of the lengths of tops etc fit well on her.

Ginfordinner · 03/11/2020 10:33

Top Shop sells 34 in leg length jeans. H and M are good for long legs and long arms.

AMillionMugsNoTeabags · 03/11/2020 10:35

Pepperberry is rubbish for tall people sadly - great fit on the boobs but too short.

I’m still searching for tall AND curvy/hourglass clothes.

gingerbreadfox · 03/11/2020 10:39

Dorothy Perkins tall range!! I LOVE IT. Almost all my clothes are from there. I'm 5ft 11 Smile also for leggings I buy the Tall Leggings from Select

Join the tall women’s facebook group ‘what’s the alTALLnative to LTS?’ www.facebook.com/groups/3140260522661124/
As well as the usual tall ranges at Long Tall Sally, Dorothy Perkins, ASOS, Seasalt, Topshop, Sainsburys etc.

We have also found some fab tall independent leggings retailers, long generously cut hoodies at several small companies great for working at home.
PJ bottoms from Chloes Closet in a whole range of dresssizes and leg lengths.
Lots of independent larger size shoe retailers.

surely there's a market out there for tall and curvy/hourglass clothes.

I'm curvy/hourglass but only 5 ft 5!

SIL is constantly searching for shoes/boots etc for her size 8 feet.

In recent months/years she's found that Faith, Dune, Superga etc all do larger sizes but there are so many women with size 7 and 8 feets - got another friend who's size 8, who don't have much choice re footwear. Why?!

SIL sometimes has success in Silver Shoon I think it is - in Bath - where her DPs live.

The above facebook page ran two surveys recently to find out what tall women want to prove to retailers their is a demand for tall clothing. Tall women come in all shapes and sizes OP. Some have very long bodies but can just get trousers ok, some aren’t exceptionally tall but have all their height in their legs, others tall and slim with or without big boobs and tall and curvy and many tall retailers stop at a 16 or an 18 and if your over 6ft this is a big problem.
A lady called Joanna runs low heeled shoes she has a page on insta, facebook and a website and is very helpful.

Mintjulia · 03/11/2020 11:48

Boden long jeans. But not Boden dresses. Their long fitting just adds a couple of inches extra material to the hem which means waistlines are all too high. It's infuriating.

MaxMara, their Weekend range and Pretty little thing are good but pricey. Both give good fit for well developed shoulders.

Breadandroses1 · 03/11/2020 11:54

I'm 5 11 and almost all my clothes are from Cos and Arket, although at the moment I'm wearing some seasalt dungarees. I'm a 14/16. Topshop tall I find not tall enough (or maybe would be fine if I was 18!).

Sweetchillijam · 03/11/2020 12:10

I forgot to say op maybe follow some tall slim people bloggers on instagram too for ideas.

SophocIestheFox · 04/11/2020 07:09

@Sweetchillijam do you have a link for this please, am on the hunt for PJs at the moment. Bought some from the men’s department in M&S but they’re still ankle flappers 😭 I want warm ankles!

Sweetchillijam · 04/11/2020 07:17

Sorry I got the name wrong apologies. Its Chloe’s Tall Couture not sure how to link here is the page below. If you join the facebook page and look up pyjamas in topics its in there. Here is the photo of the page.

I'm 5 ft 10 also with big boobs but otherwise slim.I have no problem with the length of jeans trousers , they always fit perfectly but cannot find tops that are long enough or dresses that fit on the waist .It is so frustrating.

SophocIestheFox · 04/11/2020 07:32

Thanks!

You’d think so... but not according to the retailers. if you’re hourglass, you are short and probably have curly hair and a bubbly personality and if you’re tall, you must be either willowy or athletic. Bah.

Sweetchillijam · 04/11/2020 19:11

@AMillionMugsNoTeabags totally agree. You should definitely join the above facebook group. Supposedly their are members of various tall retailers on the site too but if you comment on something be kind and constructive and follow the group rules.

AMillionMugsNoTeabags · 04/11/2020 19:48

:-) already on it and filled in the surveys!

Sweetchillijam · 04/11/2020 21:24

👍

MrsCornelius · 04/11/2020 21:40

Thanks so much for the suggestions, will have a look at the Facebook group and the Chloe site. A lot of the other retailers mentioned don’t work for me because of the big boobs, big shoulders and long body.
&OtherStories is particularly unflattering, and most Boden stuff is too short in the body.
Like another poster said, jeans are no problem. It’s tops, dresses, jackets and footwear that I can’t fine (and PJ bottoms which for some reason are cut shorter than jeans - though Next Tall PJs are good).

OP posts:
Passthecake30 · 07/11/2020 22:37

6ft and size 10-12 here. I tend to wear LTS jeans, long sleeve tops and plain knits (hopefully the new owner will continue with them!), next trousers for work. I struggle finding casual tops. Shoes are ok as I’m a 6.5 - so they come from M&S or Next, who do half sizes.

GooseberryTart · 07/11/2020 22:45

At least two independent retailers making handmade pyjama bottoms made in the UK on the facebook page too.
