How exactly *do* you walk in high heels?

As dh bought me a lovely pair of black boots with diamond buckles on them & steel stilleto heels

a bit like these but without all the zips

I usually wear flat pumps, DM's, or trainers.... I have no idea how to walk straight without looking like I'm going to fall over!

I tried them on today, walked from the bedroom to the kitchen & then had to change them!!

Any tips for a more ladylike walk rather than a stumble?

Hey FF2, I'd say just lots of pratice, and try to throw your weight forward so you are not really balancing on tiny heels

fishie · 14/10/2007 21:17

stand tall and lean back slightly. (says clog wearer)

Fireflyfairy2 · 14/10/2007 21:17

I felt thin when I wore them

Is this normal?

I told dh that he didn't know he married a half man as I have no heels in my wardrobe!

At only 4ft 10" you'd think I should have loads!

Oh god, i have had this too FFF2 i have for the past 5 years only worn flats, i used to be able to walk in heels so easily but now i look like my wobbly 14 mth old ds when i put heels on lol.

Plus they kill my bloody feet!

Hello MT! (must email you!)

I last wore a pair of heel last Xmas as I borrowed them off my sister.

They got to stay on until after the Xmas meal & then I danced in my bare feet.

Glad I'm not the only one pucca!

The bottoms of my feet were sore, as were my calves & ankles... now bear in mind I walked a mere 40 feet from bedroom to kitchen... then had to limp to the bedroom & peel them off!

i walk like tranny in anything higher than a trainer

Heated · 14/10/2007 21:29

I decided to change my high heels to ballet pumps, having only just walked down stairs -no way could I last a day. I hate having to 'think' about walking lol! Allow for taking longer to get everywhere.

try walking round standing on the balls of your feet, don't put the wight on your heels. you also can't stride so much.
boots are easier than shoes, mules are beyond me!

dexter73 · 15/10/2007 07:48

You could try party feet to stop the balls of your feet getting sore. I've got them in my heels and they really do stop that burning feeling!

Flamesparrow · 15/10/2007 07:55

I have fabulous boots - but I always feel really selfconcious walking in them, wibble, and seem to clip clop lots
