The new French Style Icon - Sylvie from Emily in Paris?

Ok, so the show's not great but I just love everything about Sylvie's style - her effortless hair, no makeup makeup and slinky satin draping clothes. She's 57 and wipes the floor with Lily Collins. She's very Carine Roitfeld. Anyone else?

I'm on the episode where Catherine has just thrown Matheus out - there was a gorgeous red blazer in that episode.

CMA is great. I watched it a while ago but Andrea Martel (just googled) has the best style too.

CMA was my best discovery of lockdown. So stylish and well written. Can’t wait for the next series.

Oh mon dieu, thanks to this thread, I binged on the first 3 episodes of CMA (dix pour cent) yesterday.
Spent all day today swishing (!) around the house, addressing my fellow occupants in a Freennnnccchhh nasal accent.
Love it (I know...this should be in telly addicts, but, the style!).

CMA is full of style. Emily in Paris would have been so much better if her friend Camille had taken her out shopping and done one of those transformations where she went from hideous American garishness to understated French elegance.

My DDs who are learning French at school also find me vv tiresome. There were some "Muuuuummm" moments.

Emily in Paris is the tv equivalent of a jam doughnut. Absolutely rubbish but when you are eating that fatty sugary treat it’s fabulous.

I have to watch with subtitles (oh, his I wish I paid attention in French!) but love CMA Love the characters and the wardrobes

I binged EiP this week (half term, I needed a laugh). I also loved the cliches, the ridiculousness and good humour of it all. I miss France, this is the longest time that we haven’t visited for about 15 years, so was willing to sit through harmless stupidity.

My take on it was that Emily was deliberately badly dressed (although I liked her yellow, floaty dress in the park- but the sandals bothered me). Am I right on that or was she supposed to be vaguely stylish?

No, I think the goal was to make a fool out of her - her clothes were borderline comical .
Strangely I felt her only saving grace was her footwear but I do like a statement bootie/sandal.
