What do you think of these wide leg trousers?

I really love them but I’m 46 and I’m worried that they’re too young for me. They’re the kind of thing my 14yr old DD would wear. If you like them what kind of top would you team them with? I was thinking a chunky, boxy jumper or top that sits on the waistband....

You’re not too old at all! I wear a pair of a similar style, from Whistles. They’re v v comfy! It makes me smile that “fashion” is elasticated waists at the moment . I wear mine with boxy tops and sweaters and trainers. I’m 54 and just about to become a granny!

I like them. I think 'too old' to wear anything is crap. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

I feared the worst from the ‘puddle’ description but actually they are nice. You are not too old! You need something waist length with them, and I’d go for something more fitted than a boxy jumper. Otherwise there might be too much volume.

I had several pairs of trousers like that in the mid-90s so I don’t think I could go there again, but if you like them, get them! I used to wear skinny rib turtleneck type things or three-quarter sleeve baseball tops... did I mention it was the 90s? 😂

I think if DD (19) was to wear those she would put a cropped wide jumper with them and have her midriff bare. Or maybe a voluminous jumper tucked in, which might be more wearable. The waist on them looks tiny though.

I don’t think they have an elasticated waist! It’s a tailored waistband as far as I can see.

I’d actually like to wear a fitted top tucked in but not sure my waistline would allow it. And the waist does look tiny on them!

Fabulous! Tucked in or cropped top with v neck cardigan or a jumper, or a shirt! Go for it

I was a bit hesitant to click the link after your description but I really like them! I think they could definitely look good on an older-than-19-year-old.
I’m tempted to order a pair myself but I’m on a self-imposed shopping ban (and it’s only started today so I should at least pretend to be committed to it for today).
