Will cutting out sugar help with clogged pores/blackheads?

I'm so sick of my skin - I'm 35 and have always had horrible blackheads on my chin and forehead. I'll clear them out but they just return. I've tried sacylic acid & I have retinol face cream. I drink lots of water, no alcohol and have a reasonably health vegan diet. However I do eat quite a lot of sugar!! Will it help to get rid of the biscuits? I don't know what else to do 😕

Adult acne sucks, you have my sympathy OP Flowers
There is limited evidence to suggest reducing sugar and high GI foods may be helpful for acne sufferers (your mileage may vary)

However, most dermatologists wouldn’t recommend this as a main treatment for your acne. Prescription treatment has been shown to work much more effectively than changing diet alone. Things like benzoyl peroxide, adapalene, spironolactone, or Roaccutane are options to consider

Also from your post it seems you have mild acne, but if you see a dermatologist privately - many will still let you go on a very low dose of Roaccutane (so won’t have as harsh side effects but can be extremely effective in reducing sebum, unclogging pores etc)

I had a greasy t-zone. So blackheads and open pores either side of the nose. The only thing that works for me is the Tria age defying laser. Also a weekly mud mask helps. All the drying things we put on your skin to stop grease can actually promote it.

Btw I got a reconditioned one from a company on ebay much cheaper.

I hadn't thought of that but will look into it thank you @noseresearch

Ooh I've never heard of that @Annettebee I'll have a look! I agree about drying products - I end up with tight dry skin but pores exactly the same!!
