Hi,

Just that really.

Inspired by my recent Mac lipstick purchase in Velvet Teddy 😍 Love love LOVE it!!

It's not drying, but does last. The colour is really flattering and I don't suit many colours at all, as I'm really quite pale. Was very dubious, as it seemed a bit of a celeb gimmick, but after losing an afternoon falling down the YouTube rabbit hole of watching Mac lipstick swatches Blush, I went ahead and purchased 4! 🤦‍♀️

Velvet Teddy is by far my favourite.

Your turn Smile

drunk elephant d-bronzi. It's amazing. I am quite pale and never able to find a bronzer that doesn't look too muddy and dark.

This one I can mix with moisturizer to get the desired shade. And unlike fake tan (which I hate and never wear) it washes off so no orange hue.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/10/2020 14:58

Velvet Teddy is lovely - my go-to for any time I'm not wearing Ruby Woo.

I recently bought a serum from Revolution, recommended by Sali Hughes, and I really like it.

I'm also a recent convert to Method body wash. Really lovely - better than the Clarins stuff I bought at 5 times the cost.

showmethegin · 07/10/2020 16:08

I love velvet teddy too! Too Faced better than sex mascara, Fenty foundation, Gimme Brow by Benefit

Thinkle · 07/10/2020 17:52

I am one of the people who can’t wear Velvet Teddy but I have a good range of other Mac lipsticks.
I love hourglass dim light power. It gives my tired pale face some life!

Lndnmummy · 07/10/2020 20:06

Perricone MD no foundation foundation. It’s beautiful
Hourglass bronzers and powders
Pat McGrath lipbalm. Really decadent and so expensive but I smile every time I apply it
Oh and hourglass eyebrow pencils.

Serenity45 · 08/10/2020 00:49

BareMinerals complexion rescue- never had so many compliments about my skin and I'm 46!

Redken One United - leaves my fine, frizz prone hair silky and smelling lovely.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/10/2020 05:47

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic. Along with retinol it has made an amazing difference to my skin.

Collection Lasting perfection foundation. I picked it up on a whim last week and it's really good ( and £6.50)

Revlon lip oil -I find it much easier and less faff to apply than lip balm and it's a good base for loosening up lipsticks that are a bit too matte.

Revolution wash out hair dye - currently I'm a sort of mid pastel peach colour - very pretty and they fade after about 5 washes.

TeddyIsaHe · 08/10/2020 07:04

Olaplex 3. I bought it on a whim with a discount (still bloody spendy though!) and ooh my. My hair feels 100x better after one use.

FaceTheory Porebright serum. My pigmentation is visibly reduced. Big fan!

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 08/10/2020 09:41

Serenity45 - I have a bottle of One United and cannot bear the smell, I've only used it the once. If you would like it, pm me.

No7 essentially natural foundation
No7 superlight stay perfect foundation
Bobbi Brown pot rouge in Powder Pink
Fenty bronzer in Shady Biz
Pixi glow-y gossamer duo in Delicate Dew
MAC Girlie eyeshadow
MAC Soft Brown eyeshadow
Makeup Revolution quad in XXPOSED
Dose of Colours lip gloss In Messy Bun
ELF wow brow

The whole range of Kate Sommerville DeliKate skincare

The makeup seems a lot but I used to have a HUGE makeup collection and after 6 years I’m finally down to one makeup bag. That’s almost my full collection and it’s all I’ve been using for months now

TheNewLook · 08/10/2020 09:55

I just bought some Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curlers to replace my ancient Shu Uemura ones and wish I hadn’t bothered. I keep gripping my actual eyelid with them!

TheNewLook · 08/10/2020 09:55

Sorry!!! Misread the thread title. Thought it was things that HAVE left you disappointed.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 08/10/2020 10:04

Not brand new, as I haven't bought a lot of beauty stuff for a while, but I've rediscovered these gems:

Pat McGrath Luxetrance lipsticks. They are just so good. Unfortunately it seems they've been discontinued.

Lisa Eldridge lipsticks.

Chanel tan soleil bronzer.

Hourglass powders (ambient light?).

And a cheap one: Milani conceal and perfect foundation. So much better than ELDW. Looks so good on the skin, both IRL and on camera/photos, and lasts really well on my oily skin.

Brondie · 08/10/2020 11:27

Loving these Smile

I'm not sure my bank account will....

ELF seriously satin lipsticks and bite size eyeshadow palettes.

I've noticed that Wilko's have started stocking Technic make-up. As I know of them from those big cheap sets at Christmas I'm not sure how good they'll be, but I bought a few things to try*. The eyeshadow palette I got looks like the Rivera one by ABH, so if it's any good I'll be very pleased! I also got a highlighter quad and two lipsticks.
(*That sounds ridiculous, I'm not a beauty blogger/vlogger, I'm just a makeup addict.)

The Ordinary serum foundation. Love! Tricky to find the right shade but perfect when you do.

ChippyTea16 · 08/10/2020 17:55

Nars lip balm in Orgasm (imagine this is universally flattering). Bought my mum a darker shade and she loves it too.

Not new but have always loved Body Shop Vitamin E serum at night.

MAC See Sheer lipstick. Described as a pink grapefruit shade, it looked quite dark when I got it but is so flattering on.

Aterlier Cologne soap in Vanilla Insensee (got a perfume sample of the same scent and it's lovely, like good quality vanilla with a hint of woodsy tobacco or something. So I bought the soap and use it in the shower and it's lovely).

NeedWineNow · 08/10/2020 23:10

I'm rather liking Superdrug Vitamin E Day and Night cream at the moment and cheap as chips, even compared to the L 'Oreal Laser Renew that I was using before.

Have discovered Caudalie Foaming cleansing wash and cleansing oil and love both.

Have rediscovered Next Eau Nude perfume as an every day one - lovely.

Luckyelephant1 · 08/10/2020 23:48

@Vargas

The Ordinary serum foundation. Love! Tricky to find the right shade but perfect when you do.
Hmmm I bought The Ordinary Coverage Foundation and initially I loved it, goes on so well and great colour match. But oh my god it transfers so easily and by the middle of the day my face is an oily mess! Back to Double Wear I go.
violetbunny · 09/10/2020 06:56

The Natasha Denona Bronze eyeshadow palette. Easily one of the best quality eyeshadow palettes I own (and as an avid luxury beauty collector I have a lot!)

SerafinaPekkala · 09/10/2020 06:59

Olaplex 3 - it's made a huge difference to my hair. Very expensive where I am but still worth it!

Luckingfovely · 09/10/2020 08:20

Yes yes to Olaplex, and the Orgasm lip balm.

I've got the Nicola Chapman x Mac lipstick which for me is the most perfect nude I've ever found.

Zengarden001 · 09/10/2020 09:06

BareMinerals complexion rescue - brilliant stuff.

Properly cleansing my skin with hot cloth cleanser (just cheap one from Aldi) and flannel. It's made the whole of different to my skin, really reduced appearance of fine lines. Previously I had just used a big standard fash wash.

GlassOfPimms · 09/10/2020 18:59

I've been investing more in beauty products recently as I'm finding buying clothes has become so difficult and disappointing!

Just bought the new L'Oreal Air mascara - it 'may' just be my holy grail of mascaras Shock Goes on really easily without clumping and lasts all day without panda eyes!

Also recently bought the most gorgeous eyeshadow palette - it's the Diego dalla Palma nuda palette from M&S which I'm so happy with. Literally every colour I would ever want.

I'm also loving other new finds - Revolution hyaluronic face mist and Dr Pawpaw lip scrub is sorting out my terrible cracked lips for the first time in ages!!

1moreRep · 09/10/2020 21:45

Aldi rose oil, cleared al my spots and also rose toner
