Serum - boots ingredients range, they do a vit c, hylauronic acid and salycilic acid serum to choose from depending on your needs.

Mascara- again Boots no7, have tried a few and they are all nice, long lasting, easy to apply.

Mascara I would say Maybelline.
I’m currently using Aldi Lacura concealer but it sells out quickly.

AnaViaSalamanca · 03/10/2020 18:59

Mascara the maybelline pink one is excellent

noodlezoodle · 03/10/2020 21:25

Serum - Superdrug simply pure hydrating serum. Good, cheap as chips.
Mascara - L'oreal bambi eyes
Concealer - Maybelline age rewind

I do tend to buy more expensive BB cream because I have rosacea, but I like the Garnier one as well. It's a bit sheer though.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/10/2020 23:30

Mascara and concealer - Collection are really good for that. About a fiver each.

BB cream - NYX do a good one called Bare with me in a good inclusive colour range. Big Superdrug's seem to be stocking them now.

Serum - it does depend on what skin problem you want to address. But Revolution do very good dupes of a lot of The Ordinary products for the same kind of price.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 03/10/2020 23:34

I read that you can't go wrong buying a big brand serum ( i.e by L'Oreal or Garnier etc) as they have the biggest budgets for research, and are most likely to have active ingredients in.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/10/2020 23:42

Mascara - Benefit Rollerlash
I've just started using a serum from Revolution - hyrolaunic acid or something like that. I really like it.

Sali Hughes has just done a piece in the Guardian with her 30 best body lotions, hair and makeup products for under £20.
She rates Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara £7.99 and LA Girl Pro Conceal £4.00 ( never heard of this but assume she knows what she’s talking about.
The previous week she did similar for facial skincare and recommended The Inkey List 15% vitamin C and EGF serum £14.99. I’m using a few of The Inkey List products myself at the minute and finding them excellent.

Serum : depends what you want it to do!? Look at the ordinary for proper active ingredients, nice and cheap the niacinamide+Zinc, the salicylic acid or the hyaluronic acid ones are good. A real cheapo one is the Superdrug vitamin E one but no active ingredients so doesn't really do much other than moisturise

Mascara - maybeline lash sensational is my absolute fave

Concealer - collection lasting perfection concealer. My absolute holy grail, £4ish and covers bloody anything. Would absolutely recommend, just try it!

Bb cream - don't really use bb cream. If I want lighter coverage I just mix foundation and moisturiser. Gives a nice dewy finish.
