Where to buy wedding dress, not first wedding and 51 years old

Hi
just that really. I'm looking for ideas where to get my dress from. The wedding is abroad, there are only going to be 4 of us there, I'm 5'2" and a busty size 14. I don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb or look like a grandma.
I don't particularly want a proper wedding dress and I don't want to spend more than £1, 000, it would seem such a waste for a 20 minute ceremony.
Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.

Love threads like this! Any idea of colour? Do you want white/ivory or completely different. Is it a warm country?

Coast is always a good place to start for occasion dresses

I would be perusing Liberty and Selfridges designer ranges

Thanks ladies, I'll go check out those suggestions.

We're getting married on Capri and I'm not too bothered about colour as long as it isn't too dark.

Exciting! I'm about the same age and shape as you and I'm getting married next week... I thought I didn't want a proper wedding dress either but having tried a load of them on, I bought one from Phase Eight. The thing about wedding dresses is that they are cut to flatter! I absolutely love mine and can't wait to wear it - it was also half price so less than £200.

Have fun finding the right dress for you - happy shopping!

Next week. How exciting, I hope all goes well and you have a lovely day, best wishes for the future.

I will make sure I go and try various different options, thank you

And the do lovely colourful dresses too, with great customer service. I felt fantastic in my mother of the bride outfit.

Thank you all. They are lovely and some are right up my street. I've already hit the internet and will be heading out to the shops this weekend.

Thank you again.
