Size 6.5 but about 11cm wide feet. Help!! Something like Solovair?

Seriously. My feet are a mess and I can’t find anything I like for winter boots.

I really want a black lace up ankle boot, something like a Solovair, Doc or Grenson but the widest of which seems to be about 8.8cm wide. I’ve done board searches on here and people recommend Ecco, Hotter and Gabor and I really don’t see anything that I like.

If I got a Solovair would it stretch? Or should I give up on life and get used to the fact that I’m going to be in orthopaedic frump land forever.

Unisex dms are wider than womens so make sure you try them. Hogl are meant to be good for problem feet these say they are F1/2 but don’t have a chart as to what that actually means on line - might be worth contacting customer service.

When I have finished watching my program I am going to measure my foot width!

I only measured because I was using the size charts on the DM/ Solovair websites. I was horrified to find out how wide my feet were compared to their sizing charts. I know I was wide but they are huge!

Wish I had a ruler right now.

I’ve not heard of that brand before. I wonder if there are any UK stockists so returns aren’t a nightmare.

Okay just measured the width of my non dainty feet.

10cm (size 7)

I have a discontinued style of DM the Teresa, which fits brilliantly, so I think unisex DMs would be fine.

To be honest the only pair of shoes that I find noticeable narrow are a pair of Paul Smith brogues that I can only wear with tights however I don’t wear high heels or dainty shoes.

Fitflops are good. Lots of toe room.

MadauntofA · 29/09/2020 22:06

Look at vivobarefoot- pricy, but they have a wide toe box for a natural fit. The most comfortable shoes for my v wide feet.

I just bought some Blundstone boots and they use Australian sizing - apparently a half size means it's half a size wider (as opposed to just longer). Have a look on their webpage where it has the exact measurements and then go and see if they have your size on TKMaxx for an awful lot cheaper

faustina · 30/09/2020 08:22

... also depending which size you take, you might find a men's Grenson to fit - they're wider than the women's ones - just seen you're a 6.5. I'm sure they have men's in that size!

misscockerspaniel · 30/09/2020 09:21

Snap! I take 6.5 and having just measured, my hooves are 11cm wide. I find that Gabor wide fit, fit so it might be worth looking at that site www.gaborshoes.co.uk
