Can anyone find me necklace like this but in silver?

White gold/platinum/even sterling silver. I am looking for exact fineness of necklace and small size of diamond? Ideally one that sits like a choker on your neck, rather than a long or clumpy item that sits further down or in your cleavage? I can't find anything similar online, but I haven't gone to a jeweller and asked in person yet. Which they might be able to come up with I suppose. Not too fussed about material of necklace, just that it's silver coloured so to speak and that the setting for the diamond is silver also. Do want a diamond ideally, but would settle for a precious stone.

I’m a bit confused. The one linked is white gold?

Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 13:24

FFs - what was I reading a minute ago. That is the exact necklace, maybe they had two options. I'd swear blind it read yellow gold! Ignore me!!!!

😂😂

Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 13:26

Now to decide whether I want it more than a holiday lol. I was better off before the exact item I wanted was staring me in the eyes. At least then I could just dream!!

Crocky · 26/09/2020 13:28

Can’t help you there. That question is just too difficult to answer. Whichever you decide, enjoy.

Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 13:29

Christ - would you buy it? Not exactly got the money to spare, well I have, but I'm saving for far more important things. I'm going to give myself a day or two to think about it. I usually 'cannot live without' things and then wake up after a night's sleep and thank God that I didn't give in to my frivolity.

Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 13:30

I was thinking about it for both my dd's 21st (which is why I came across it in the first place) but now want it for myself too!!

OP posts:
Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 13:32

God what sort of brain farts am I having today, thinking about it for both dd and now for me. I don't have twins. Confused

MojoJojo71 · 26/09/2020 13:42

Buy it for yourself to celebrate 21 years since you gave birth to your DD. I’ve often thought that our mums should be bought presents on our birthdays, not us. It would be lovely for you both to have matching necklaces to celebrate the day you brought her into the world

thesecangettofuck · 26/09/2020 13:47

Have a look in Costco. Their jewellery is lovely and often a fair bit cheaper but no loss in quality.

Stinkyguineapig · 26/09/2020 13:53

Unless the cartier name is the most important thing, I wouldnt buy it. The diamond is less than 3mm and it's very overpriced.

Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 14:06

I am a little taken by the Cartier brand.

That Elsa Peretti one is nice RiskIt4Biscuit but the necklace isn't as fine as I'd like and 16" seems long?

I want something delicate, rather than it looking like costume jewellery when it's worth a fortune.

Rumbledstitlskin · 26/09/2020 14:07

I also don't want a big diamond. A small delicate one. Like my constitution today after too much alcohol last night - delicate Grin

It's one or none of us. Can't afford two, much as I'd love to. How long does stock stay in stock in these jewellers? If I look in 6 months time, will they still have it?

Can someone explain carats to me too? 'My' one is .04 carats and RiskIt4Biscuit's one is .07 carats. Does that refer to size or quality?

OP posts:
Stinkyguineapig · 26/09/2020 14:18

Carat refers to weight rather than quality
1 carat is approx to 0.2 grams.
It is made up of 100 "points" or 1/100ths of a carat.
A 0.04ct diamond = 4 points or 4/100ths of a carat
A 0.07ct diamond = 7 points or 7/100ths of a carat.
This is simply the weight, they could be any quality but Cartier ones you would hope would be good quality especially as they are charging a fortune!

Lougle · 26/09/2020 14:28

16" is 41cm, which is the length of the chain that you originally linked to.

I saw the Elsa Peretti one too, and thought it was a good match.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 26/09/2020 14:30

Hi @Rumbledstitlskin This is from www.gemporia.com. They are also on sky channel 665. UK family company. 30 day refund policy.

It is a slider chain so you can adjust the length.

You can get the tiffany diamonds by the yard necklaces with diamonds in different sizes - there is a drop down on the page which shows you the options.

I like the length of the chain, but you can get it shortened or lengthened. I haven't had it done myself though.

The chain is thin. I don't have a necklace from cartier, so I can't tell you if it's different to the tiffany chain.

Zeldaaa · 26/09/2020 15:01

Similar and around half the price: www.caratlondon.com/products/maisie-necklace-18k-white-gold?variant=31290702561338

Note - it is a lab diamond, not natural diamond

Voodoorain · 26/09/2020 16:06

Swarovski have one like that but not a diamond obviously; www.swarovski.com/en_GB-GB/p-5408442/Attract-Round-Necklace-White-Rhodium-plated/

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 26/09/2020 17:11

Just get one made at a jeweller. For that price you could get a much better stone.

TheFlis12345 · 26/09/2020 17:14

I have the Tiffany one and the chain is very fine and delicate.

Stinkyguineapig · 26/09/2020 17:29

If you went somewhere anonymous/non branded you could probably get one for you and one for your DD for a similar price, possibly with a bigger diamond as well. The mark up on Cartier/tiffany stuff is massive. For smaller items especially, you are paying for their branding and advertising rather than a higher quality item than you could get elsewhere.
