Looking for tights that don't fall down!

I'm 5 8 and always buy extra large for the length but all I do is spend the whole day pulling them up. I know you can wear knickers over them but would prefer not to! Any recommendations please :)

I don’t know how the Sad crept in there, it was meant to be after the reference to putting our legs away.

Why so many women on here complain of tights falling down? Does it happen when the body shape is bigger stomach than hips?

Anyway I tried snag they were veryyyy stretchy. I find primark tights in the right size very good. Snag doesnt give any control to the chub so i dont feel held in but you can do gymnastics in them and not fall.

It does seem like a campaign of free ads to snag from all these threads Grin

Ditto snag.
I always buy 3 or 5 and get the discount!

For me I have long legs so hsve to buy XL in primark tights which makes them too big in width.

I hate primark tights, I hate how they wash too.

I can only use them for one wear and then into the bin.

Craddle64 · 26/09/2020 06:45

Oh ok. Im short with wide hips and big bum.

pincertoe · 26/09/2020 06:48

Snag here two. Last three pairs lasted over a year and were still great just a bit washed out so I bought three more pairs. I wear tights pretty much every day.

Bl3ss3dm0m · 26/09/2020 09:08

Another Snag devotee here. As well as lots of lovely colours to choose from, they do plain black ones, and some normal "tights" coloured ones. They also listen and react if they get lots of requests for s particular colour. I bought 2 pairs in my favourite green colour, just incase they stopped doing them. I don't know what magic they practice to stop them from falling down, or wrinkling at the ankles, but I am nora batty no longer! I am also not a robot, or in the pay of the snag people, but they do seem a lovely company to buy from. Star

I love the bright colours, they are cheerful. I am short and fat, and have never liked wearing tights but I really rate snags, they do stay up. I have tried the no knickers thing but it's not for me. I didn't feel covered enough (if I needed to go to A&E or a gust of wind lifted my dress). I have never needed two pairs of pants with snags.

Kwiregirl · 26/09/2020 17:06

Not cheap but Falke are the best "engineered" fit. Proper breathable gusset too. M&S Autograph is a good second best. Having said that, it depends on the wearer's shape and we are all different.
I agree with previous comments about cheap supermarket tights - some fit OK but without breathable gussets, they are not good for all day wear at work..

Nat6999 · 26/09/2020 18:02

The big tights company, do tights for taller than average or plus sized, they also do knickers as well.

Geppili · 26/09/2020 23:30

Manzi The Tights from Amazon

StrawberryMice · 26/09/2020 23:37

I'm 5 8, wear tights a lot and TBH the last time I wore tights that fell down was approx 1996 when mostly all that was available was cotton tights with very little 2-way stretch. What brands have you tried that fall down?!

raeray · 26/09/2020 23:44

Another snag voter!
They are the only tights I've ever worn that haven't fallen down or laddered after one wear!

Annebronte · 27/09/2020 08:48

I prefer Heist to Snag. I’m also tall. I like the choice of waist heights to suit dresses or skirts and they are extremely comfortable and smooth.

RonaldMcDonald · 27/09/2020 12:42

Yeah - mostly they suggest xl for my height but I’m a size 10 in my bottom half
Thus all tights falling down
Tried Walford previously but I continued to ruin them easily and they were too €€€
Will try Falke and Snag - thanks

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 27/09/2020 12:56

Yip, Snags here too!

HermioneWeasley · 27/09/2020 13:06

Another vote for Snag. I found the crotch would always be half way down my thighs before. These fit, don’t roll down and don’t bag at the ankle. I’m a pear shaped size 16 5’5” and buy D (but they’re a generous fit, but I’m not brave enough to try a size down)

viccat · 27/09/2020 13:10

I love Snag too, and a big fan of the colours!

Another option is M&S for the "tummy control" or "shaping" tights (can't remember the exact name). They are tighter around the body and top of legs and stay up really well because of that. They usually only do them in black though.

yellowsun · 27/09/2020 21:45

I have 34” legs and like either snag or M&S. I prefer the thick patternedness of M&S ones but for bog standard tights, Snag are cheap and more comfy

deedeemegadoodoo · 28/09/2020 14:59

M&s Velvet touch were always my faves but I tried Snag and found them to be even better, i have been known to stick big kickers over the top if wearing a pair that is not as reliable!
