What do you think of these? Dressing skinny ankles

Okay so I have not moved with the times. I'm 33 and I'm still stuck in skinny jeans and biker boots but I really want to branch out. I really like the loose fit trousers look but I dont know what shoes to wear, bearing in mind:

  1. I dont like heels
  2. I have very long skinny legs, and by skinny I dont mean slim: I mean very skinny legs and especially very bony looking ankles.

So I'm looking at the kind of trousers on pic attached and in trying to figure out how to wear flat shoes with them without looking like a starving child. I'll post pics of the kind of shoes I'm looking at in post below. This is so basic but its tricky when you've been so used to wearing one thing year in and year out.

I am 5'9" if that helps. Instinctively I'm drawn to the flat black shoes. I really like the suede boot things but they seem like more hassle. I dont know though, can you wear such clumpy shoes with such thin ankles?

I have skinny ankles too! Sorry but I think those trainers would just accentuate them, I wear white leather Puma baskets with cropped trousers and find they look ok. They're not very chunky so work better.

I also discovered lace up boots last winter, which look good with cropped trousers and skirts/dresses, because you can tighten them more you don't get the welly look.

I am very jealous of your ankles! I am not blessed in that department and chunky trainers and boots flatter me and make mine look smaller, so I’d imagine they may make yours look tiny. I’d go for lace up boots if I were you, or something a little bit dainty.

Brogues too would be lovely on you. I have always wanted to wear brogues 😢

@Miseryisabutterfly isnt that funny that we always want to wear what we actually cant? I absolutely love all this clunky stuff but I think it will look weird on me. Like this summer, I really wanted a pair of those thick black strapped clompy 90s sandals but it just looked...not great.
Same with jewellery, I dont want to wear "dainty chain bracelets", I want to wear chunky silver bangles!

Maybe I need to let go of the clumpy shoe idea then and look more for a victorian style lace up ankle boot, preferably in suede. I do like that look too and it would probably suit me better. Only thing is that style tends to have a heel.

If anyones seen any low heeled ones, please let me know!
