If you’re short and a size 12, what kind of coat do you wear?

Time for a new coat and I have no idea what to get! I think I’ve bought really unflattering ones in the past and would like to get it right this time... I like Toast/Kin-style clothes BUT as a curvy petite woman oversize coats just swamp me... any ideas?

Oh I am just like you! Love Cos and a short size 12 to 14.
My best coats are 50’s or 60’s style, with a bit swing. Few embellishments , minimum or no collar.
Second hand shops have been great hunting ground for me.

I am 5’4” currently 12-14 but been everywhere between a size 8 and a 22 in the past
I love jaeger wool coats
The style that suits me best has raglan sleeves and a single pleat at the back that swings out
3/4 length so can wear with trousers or dresses
Once I found the perfect style I just keep buying it in different colours! Usually on eBay! I now have black, charcoal grey, light grey, teal, royal blue, red and camel
