A nice scent for work?

CitizenCandyKane · 31/08/2020 06:43

Can anyone recommend a nice, but not too out there scent for a new job?

Currently wearing DKNY Be Delicious, but really prefer powdery, floral (rose, violet) or gourmand perfumes.

Also have:

Prada Infusions D'iris
Narcisso Poudree
Jo Malone Red Roses
Estee Lauder Summer Sun
Liz earle No 20
Mugler Angel eau sucree
Mugler Aura
YSL Paris

Needs to make me smell nice and memorable, but not kill anyone within a 20 metre radius.

@FMLFML

Why do people wear perfume to work? Do you smell horrid? Just be clean and you won't need to wear perfume.
As someone who used to regularly be in the toilets with bouts of nausea from someone's perfume, just don't.
And even if you do wear it, please spray it at home. Don't carry it in your bag and spray on more when you're at work to "refresh it".
I would fully support a ban on all forms of fragrance at work. I don't need to be smelling 37 different types of perfume/cologne every time I walk to the printer.

Because they want to? Hmm

I am clean. I do not smell horrid. I'm leaving a job where jewellery, make up, perfume etc are not allowed, for a job where they are. I would like to treat myself and feel human again at work. For me that means a new scent. I hope that's OK with the universe and everybody Hmm

I genuinely can’t understand why people would come on a thread requesting recommendations for a fragrance for work to say “don’t wear perfume to work”.

If there was a thread asking for suggestions for a new car, I wouldn’t hop on to say “I hate cars, they are bad for the environment”. I would scroll on by.

Jimmy choo flash is a pretty powdery floral. I've just treated myself to a big bottle. Smells similar to eternity moment and issy miyake.

Jo Malone Red Roses is a bit heavy and sickly for day time I think. The Jasmine and Mint or Nectarine and Honey are much lighter and more pleasant for just general day to day imo.

Another vote for Liz Earle - Botanical Essence No 1.
Lovely scent - not overpowering in an office, and gets lots of compliments. 20% off at the moment too.

Penhaligons has a fabulous scent called Halfeti. Sandlewood, amber, musk, not too sweet.

You took the words out of my mouth Judy (it's me, PIAM) people must be very bossy and controlling to go onto threads which hold no interest for them to shout people down. I think a certain brand of clothes popular on MN are foul. Perhaps I'll go crashing onto threads and tell them they all look like cheap barmaids.

Liz Earle 1 is gorgeous. So crisp and lovely.

Bit 90s maybe, but CK one is pretty clean and inoffensive!

I've always worn perfume to work just like I've always worn make-up to work. There are some odd views on this thread.

Have you considered any of the Clarins fragrances? I have all three which I wear in different seasons but love the blue one Eau De Ressourcante for a light day one.

I have recently bought a White Oud perfume as well which is now my favorite. I don't think you will get the brand there as it's locally made, but Oud fragrances seem to be very popular at the moment. My dd has the vanilla and Oud and it is beautiful. It reminds me of Modern Muse Rogue, which is one that I haven't been able to find easily anymore.

Chanel Cristalle. Not overpowering and very slightly citrussy.

I'm not mad on powdery fragrances but I do like Geurlain L'Instant. Its honey/magnolia/powder.
Chloe de Roses would be a good one for work I think, It's very pretty and fresh.
I have been wearing Serpentine by Roberto Cavalli all Summer. It's gorgeous-tropical mango flower and amber and some other things but it smells really summery and yummy.

I love CK One - I remember deliberating for ages whether to get that or CK Be! Might have to treat myself to some

I wear Gucci memoire to work, it’s a clean soapy fragrance. I work in a school so can’t wear anything too strong.

I like the Estée Lauder Sensuous range they are not ground breaking or powerful but do last and are perfect for work.

Nude In the summer as it is pretty and light and I love the original Sensuous in winter, it is the only oriental I have tried that is light enough for work.
