OMG. Have you been in to Jigsaw recently?

Everything was lovely.

It was delicious.

There was velvet and cotton and lovely ruched up skirts and weird cardigans.

There were swoony boots with edging and there were shiny shoes with sharp heels.

There were velvet coats with big buttons and jumpers and everything was divine.

The lady said they have a new designer. It was sooo much better. It was soooo expensive.

I want it all. I want the velvet coat, I want the weirdy blue dress, I really want the hunting boots.

Will have large coffee before I go to get full rush effect

ahundredtimes · 05/10/2007 19:21

I even looked at the cape for a while.

Would you wear a cape?

those gnomes have been drinking

they won't be allowed on the bus you know

(can't even see the dress on that woman - she's too far away and has a coat on!)

I want that coat too. It is divine, but dh pointed out that it would get sick on the shoulder like all my other clothes.

Or was that his attempt to stop me spending money we haven't got?

hoxtonchick · 05/10/2007 19:21

we are moving to devon 100, so close-ish to bath....

DarthVader · 05/10/2007 19:21

Our Jigsaw looks like a jumble sale and the prices are ludicrous

their website is tosh

I daren't go in to see if the new designer is great as it would bankrupt me! Jigsaw Junior only has 1 or 2 good pieces and these are vvv expensive...I like some of the stuff at Kew though

obv let us know what you buy!!

Mercy · 05/10/2007 19:24

What a bonkers website - what's the goose in the glasses all about?

ProfessorGrammaticus · 05/10/2007 19:24

Probably would THINK I would wear a cape with full shoppingtastic coffee experience especially if the music was good - our Jigsaw has a really good sound system - but in reality? No - am too boring. No gnomes, no capes, no coloured undies.

ahundredtimes · 05/10/2007 19:25

Yes it is too expensive I think. I nearly bought a black cardigan - plain black, with a brown trim - because I was so excited, but then thought, what am I doing? It costs half this in Gap, without the brown trim.

The coat is what I'm thinking about. Quite a lot.

Perhaps it was the shop DV? The shop was amazing. I liked the lamps you see.

Mmmm - velvety skirts, velvety skirts...

Do you still have the cafe over Waterstones in Bath with the sweet VIth form girls serving? Spent ages in there 15 years ago...

ahundredtimes · 05/10/2007 19:30

oh yes is there, is a Starbucks or a Costa I think. I've never been there though.

Shame. Used to be independent. Was lovely

ahundredtimes · 05/10/2007 19:46

There are still quite a lot independents - v nice cafe under Pultney Bridge - and about 304 chain coffee shops.

Will you tell me what you buy PG? Am nervous you'll be cussing me under your breath - tabards! Pah! Silly skirts! Pah! - like that.

Agree that Jigsaw web site is one of those totally crap web sites that really needs to stop prancing around trying to look like a magazine and show the clothes instead. And they may as well all sell online now, because online shopping is about all I do since my baby was born. Otherwise there's usually (in Jigsaw especially) steps and tight squeeze changing rooms. And everyone else sells online.

For some reason I think of Jigsaw as cheaper than Boden because at least it all looks expensive, with its bloom on grapes and sludgy sunrise colours. Boden looks like slightly prettier Marks stuff at Jigsaw prices.

ProfessorGrammaticus · 05/10/2007 19:55

Yes will tell! Have already had blowout in Gap a couple of weeks ago (plus lace up boots) so may be very ashamed of self. Am going with good shopping friend (ie bad influence!)...

FrayedKnot · 05/10/2007 20:00

I love the colours 100x, despite the crappy website

Don;t know where my nearest jigsaw is, probably a good job given the prices

Blondilocks · 08/10/2007 21:47

I love the little lacy vests & all the little cardigans.

I'm lucky enough to live near a Jigsaw outlet store too

ProfessorGrammaticus · 08/10/2007 22:02

Pshaw! Friend bought lovely suit, I bought nothing! I tried on loads and loads but nothing was quite right. I wanted knee length skirt and woolly jumpers but they were not to be had. Then went to Kew only to find it had closed down Forced to console myself with trip to Pizza Express...

scampadoodle · 09/10/2007 15:01

If you like Jigsaw, 100x, you'd probably like Noa Noa - & it's a bit cheaper I think.

Blondilocks · 09/10/2007 21:28

The only thing with Jigsaw I've found is that you're paying loads for a jumper & they don't always seem to wash well even if you follow the instructions.

webchick · 10/10/2007 19:32

I love Jigsaw but now I dont need so many work clothes I dont go in there so much. I went into their Wimbledon Village shop in the summer and they had lovely knitwear - cashmere-y V-necks in nice colours and casual but smart-ish trousers. They also have lovely handbags !
