What to wear with a pleated midi skirt

Last year I bough two pleated midi skirts, one floral the other khaki. Lightweight floaty fabric. I really like them but struggle to know what to wear with them.

I'm size 16, big boobs, more of a tummy than I would like and not much of a waist.

It is what to wear on my top more than footwear. They have elastic waists so look odd with a tucked in top but a loose top makes me look huge.

I wear mine with tops tucked in, even the elasticated waist one. If you then pull out the top a bit so it folds over the waist band a little, it hides the band not being quite so nice (not sure this is very clear!). Or I've seen others put a big belt over the join to hide a waistband.

tucked in camisole and a cropped cardigan?

or a faux-wrap top?

Tshirts and jumpers (not too thick) tucked in, a little bit of material overhang looks fine.

Or a denim shirt occasionally (either tucked in or tied at the waist band).

I wear mine with black turtleneck tucked in.
You can try add blazer or denim jacket, cardigan.
It all depends on your body type.
Take a look on Girl With Curves.

Hmm I have a couple of loose ish t-shirts I could try tucked in but overhanging the waistband

That girl with curves site is good but she is such a different shape to me. I am very much top heavy, my bum legs and hips are pretty trim

If you feel like the top is too baggy you can always twist it a little at the back to bring it in or "wrap" the ends of a shirt.

Id also second normal length cardigans, coats and blazers. Cropped ones will likely make you look top heavy and a bit matchy.

Although conversely, if you're feeling brave, a loose cropped tshirt ending where the skirt waisted starts could help accentuate a waist.

Let us know how you style it!

I wear mine with a fitted Tshirt or a fitted jumper (both untucked)
