What are my options? Am I going to have to get a second mortgage for a North Face Arctic coat?!

To add I live in a city - The length of the Arctic and fit mean I think other things might be better if you wanted it for dog walking or anything properly outdoorsy.

I also love Lands End coats - they are properly warm and waterproof. I’ve got several (my oldest being at least 10 years old) and they all still look and function like new. They are totally indestructible! And if you choose the color carefully, I think they look as good as a warm, waterproof coat from anywhere is going to look.

I've got a couple of Protected Species coats. They are brilliant and they look much more stylish than waterproof jackets usually do. I will also give a shout out to my Seasalt Janelle, which has done me for several years now and is still going strong. I live in one of the rainiest parts of the UK and we also get snow/cold.

Uniqlo has really nice down coats. I think they're shower proof rather than waterproof though.

Oh so many replies thank you. My notification emails were going to junk. For those asking I'm in UK, south east. Coat would be for spending all day outside with the kids and also commuting. Have always had a work suitable coat but now wanting an actual warm one! I'm going to somewhere with a North Face store next week so hoping to try one and see what the hype is.

I have the Helly Hansen arden down parka. This will be its 2nd winter, still looks brand new. It's very comfy, warm and completely waterproof. I'm stood outside a lot with childrens activities and dog walking.
