The majority of the clothes I could live without, although there are some really nice pieces (pyjamas, tank tops and jumpers mainly), but I am always left with a longing for the lifestyle. The photographs are so lovely, and I so need to do my gardening in a party dress and sit in the pub with a pint of bitter in a lovely toast jumper.........oh for the lack of clutter!

Boots are cool but fucking hell.
The price-!!
They are wetting themselves at having tapped into a market of MC women who aspire to be Mississippi sharecroppers circa 1936.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 04/10/2007 21:23

Mmm the pajamas, the knitwear, the slouchy trousers. It's lovely.

norkmaiden · 04/10/2007 21:39

at MS croppers c. 1936!!

If anyone can find me boots like that sub 3 figures I will be eternally grateful

hoxtonchick · 04/10/2007 23:34

i loooooooooooove toast. but i bought a very strange dress which had to go back this week.... this.

controlfreaky2 · 04/10/2007 23:37

[waves hi to hoxters]
am serial toast buyer and returner..... probably keep about 10% of stuff i order from there.....
sometimes you find something good..... their trousers fit me! those slouchy cord jeans are really nice in rl....

hoxtonchick · 04/10/2007 23:46

hello cf! will find you in toast on upper st (along with others on this thread). i have gorge metallic purple ballet shoes from toast. their jeans always look weird on me though.

controlfreaky2 · 04/10/2007 23:49

are they all hugely gapey at the back of your waist? that's what the jeans are like on me.... but the cords are fab.
have to say you could tell from the pic that dress was mad!

hoxtonchick · 04/10/2007 23:50

too baggy generally, the jeans (i have just e-mailed you btw).

controlfreaky2 · 04/10/2007 23:52

and i've just replied

1dilemma · 05/10/2007 00:07

I'm amazed they sell anything at those prices

wakemeup · 05/10/2007 00:22

I have just bid and won for a £1 a pair of red cords from toast.

Bargain

Not sure what I will wear with them though?

1dilemma · 05/10/2007 00:38

on e bay?
are they your size?

skirmish · 05/10/2007 07:42

have said it before, will say it again...toast is owned by french connection, so you are getting clothes made in the same factories, (morocco, turkey, china etc etc), from the same materials, at double the price...better option is to get great plains stuff...again, same thing, but a lot cheaper!!

MummyDarlingSausage · 05/10/2007 08:22

Loads of clothes shops use the same factories. Thats the same as saying don't buy a Ferrari, buy a Fiat as they are part of the same company. If you can afford Toast and like their clothes then why not? Personally I wouldn't buy Toast as it's too plain and the clothes only look good on models imo

skirmish · 05/10/2007 08:24

but fiats don't look like ferraris!

a lots of the toast/fc/gp stuff is very similar (or it used to be!)

wakemeup · 05/10/2007 09:25

1dilemma-yes I won thenm on e bay.

Hoping I can squeeze into them, they are a size 10.

I can't resist a bargain
