Thick cotton pants like Boden girls' ones?

margaritasbythesea · 15/08/2020 16:08

DD is super sensitive and only likes the big thick cotton pants from Boden. Unfortunately, she is too big for all of them and I am looking for an alternative. They could be women's as she is about a 6-8.

I have seen the ones in Petit Bateau and they would be perfect but the price is really beyond me. I thought the Boden ones were be expensive enough! any suggestions would be welcome.

If at all possible, she would prefer to avoid pink and cutsie stuff like hearts.

Superdry do good ones.

margaritasbythesea · 15/08/2020 16:11

I would never have thought of there. I'll go and have a look.

I buy their bikinis for everday wear and they wash and wear well.

Jack wills

Dd also loves the Boden big pants. We’ve tried a few alternatives and the best so far is from Uniqlo, they’re also quite thick (not as thick) and capacious. And they are less flowery, which is an advantage.

I haven’t found bigger version of the Boden nightie, though, which will be an issue next year.

Have you tried John Lewis for a nightie NotHotPot? They do some very Boden-alikes usually.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will order a few to try.

I have tried John Lewis, but they are knee or calf length and she likes them to be ankle length. And the cotton isn’t as soft.

Sloggi cotton ones are good and thick. Comfy too. I get them from Amazon

Mumof1I · 15/08/2020 18:19

Bonds. Really nice big thick cotton and jazzy colours available

Madamfrog · 15/08/2020 18:48

Petit Bateau in multipacks from French supermarkets, probably much cheaper than in a PB boutique in the UK.

FoamRoller · 15/08/2020 18:50

Oddballs do funky women's pants in a nice cotton with a wide waistband. They also do seamless ones but the cotton ones are much better. Non-frilly/girly patterns and super comfy.

Thank you for these suggestions. I think there will be a lot of trial pants coming our way!

NotHotPot anything suitable here?

Thanks, but no. Very little in her size and those are too pink and frilly, plus she likes the stretchy cotton of the Boden ones, not the crisp type cotton which it looks like those are. But thanks for the thought!

I have been looking for a long time LotusBell. Lots of new ideas to try now. Smile

Didn't realise it was your post when I copied it! Blush

Ohgoodness34 · 17/08/2020 09:29

Exact same situation here. We ended up with petit bateau but in the 40% off sale. Still horribly expensive but i justified to myself that she wears them every day Shock

margaritasbythesea · 17/08/2020 09:43

Smile lotusbell

I know she will love them Ohgoodness34. I would just have to persuade her not to grow any more so she can keep them forever!

I have ordered a few different sorts. I will see how we get on.

Dd is14 and would only ever wear Boden cotton pants growing up. She hated any other ones.

She now wears mainly these from pink. They usually have offers on for x amount for ££ www.victoriassecret.com/gb/pink/panties/hipsters?scroll=true

We’ve tried all of the workmen’s high waisted and full type briefs from everywhere.
The others she likes are these so I keep an eye out for new colours and sales. www.urbanoutfitters.com/en-gb/shop/out-from-under-albie-recycled-seamless-knickers?category=knickers&color=040&type=REGULAR&quantity=1

So Boden still do the teen range she didn’t mind the ones from there but they were not as high and full coverage as the children’s ones.

How old is dd? As I know my dd would never wear super dry or the odd balls ones. She does have a couple of pairs of jack wills and Calvin Klein ones that she will wear.

DameCelia · 17/08/2020 12:41

Tokyo laundry from TK Maxx are excellent.

margaritasbythesea · 17/08/2020 23:33

Thanks for the suggestions. Dd is 12 but is a woman's 6 to 8 in size. She did gasp, 'What are THOSE!' at the oddballs ones. She has very particular ideas about design aswell as feel. Unfortunately, her taste is both particular and excellent and judgement of quality spot on. Poor me Grin
