I’ve never ordered anything from them before. I’m intrigued by the work wear especially the silk shirts. Is the quality good?

How do the jersey dresses wash? I’m scared to pay full price for anything made out of viscose as the fit never seems the same after a wash.

covetingthepreciousthings · 16/08/2020 19:04

I'm glad others have said they think the prices have crept up. I know it's always been on the pricey end but I really couldn't justify £38 for a novelty Christmas Breton top.. nor the £23 for a children's novelty Christmas t-shirt.

I can't decide if I love or hate the zebra Grin

To the poster above... I've always found Boden the wash well, I have a dress and it's lasted well considering how old it will be now (think it will be viscose).

goose1964 · 16/08/2020 21:52

There are a few jumpers I like, I'd probably buy a Christmas breton if they were half the price. I usually covet at least one coat but the only I like this year is the blue fake fur one.

Bella2020 · 16/08/2020 22:21

So disappointing! I love Boden usually, but most of what I've seen in this preview is pretty drab or looks dated.

Ah well....it'll save me spending loads with them!

Bloodylush · 16/08/2020 22:36

I don’t like a single thing. Maybe it will look better on a model.

And I’m another one who can’t wear a high neck.

Ikeameatballs · 16/08/2020 22:56

I like the Claudia cropped cardigan in tan and black and the Claudia coatigan in black but both are expensive.

askmehowiknow · 17/08/2020 08:24

Well I love the dresses!

The black Corinne smocked dress, grey cara midi dress and Rita velvet midi dress will be mine! Also the Edale belted coat.

I'm a huge fan of granny print dresses too but sadly they don't suit me

askmehowiknow · 17/08/2020 08:27

The Olympia shirt dress in peach is also gorgeous...

Justa2015 · 17/08/2020 08:56

I've been feeling for a while they've lost their way and this isn't really doing much restoring confidence. There seems to be a philosophy of 'if we make the clothes in strange enough colours people won't realise how unflattering the cuts are...'

MadisonMontgomery · 17/08/2020 09:55

Not really keen on any of this - as others have said I used to buy 90% of my wardrobe from Boden, but I just buy the odd bit when they send me a voucher or something now. Wish they would stop making clothes in such awful colours - either bright or sickly! And it’s the typical thing of prices increasing and quality declining since they got well known.

Treehuggertastic · 17/08/2020 10:02

Perhaps if they had a more “classic” line (With the v necks or scoop necks, plain colours) and then for those who do like the more fashionable high necks and skimming shapes - because they do suit people too, just not me - and odd colours and prints in their more seasonal releases.

If they would do an off white / creamy v neck in cashmere - and colours that suit both warm colouring and cool colouring.

I usually find their trousers flattering and well fitting (their vanity sizing is next level mad but whatever). I just want more plain things that suit big boobs and can be jazzed up with clothes from
other shops.

I do find they wash well though. Hems can come down off trousers but their summer dresses are perfect for travel and washing repeatedly.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 17/08/2020 12:23

I was part of the panel this year and they seem to have ignored the feed about necklines and lengths. I’m guessing as production had already gone ahead.

I really like the jersey dresses with scoop, v or wrap necklines as they are usually a good price, wash well and last as well as being flattering to this overweight Middle Aged woman who works in a school so has to be smart but not office wear smart. However if the prices keep going up I will stock to other brands that I currently usually go to Boden first over say fat face, seasalt, white stuff.

Abraid2 · 17/08/2020 12:26

I need a sweatshirt for days out at the end of summer when it can get cold on a beach or on a walk. But £60? Even with voucher for 10% that's a lot, isn't it? Or am I out of touch?

I've bought enough from Boden over the last few years to question their design or lack of it and the quality. I have some great dresses, shirts, jackets, from 3 plus years ago and they've held their colour, not pilled and have some good styling for those of us a little less than svelte. The latest purchases have faded, fabric not as good - less weight and not as robust and just lack those little extras (buttons / velvet trim / darts). I feel they can't charge these prices for diminishing quality. I will pay for something that I think (hope) will last but unless their items are silly money in their sales, I will probably revert to buying the same quality from elsewhere for less.
