Sunscreen for under make up

Hi all,

Can I please have some recommendations for the best sunscreen to use under make up, minimum 30SPF. I’m struggling to find something that doesn’t cause break outs, doesn’t cause skin tints/foundations to ball up and sit badly or leave a chalky residue or cost a fortune to use on a daily basis. I suppose the other alternative may be a primer with a decent SPF.

Which sunscreens work for you And don’t affect your make up?

Thank you

The glossier one is great, specifically for face has a nice texture and finish and smells like lemon meringue pie

Dd (20, quite dry skin) swears by frezyderm velvet f50, says it feels like a primer under foundation. She finds some brands either break her out or make her foundation pill, but loves this one - she buys it on amazon.

@JinglingHellsBells

LRP gave both me and DH rashes. Sorry but I don't get on with them.

Ultrasun (Swiss company) is better and they do several types for face.

Ultrasun gave me spots (and I never get spots). Think it's a case of trial and error really to find what suits your skin, not that one is better than the other.

Heliocare oil free gel Spf 50. I love it.

My friend uses City Block and loves it but someone told her it's technically not a sunscreen and to use something else too? I'm not sure if she took that advice

Clinique city block for many years. Excellent protection and coverage.

I was recommended Frezyderm on this board and think it’s brilliant. i find some sunscreens too “filmy” This one is great for under makeup.

TeaOneSugar · 12/08/2020 13:28

stayathomer There are two formulations of City Block the sheer one is 25 SPF so maybe not a sun block, the regular one is SPF40 though.

Another vote for LPR here. They have a few for different skin types but I have oily/ combination skin use the anthelios invisible fluid everyday and find it lovely and lightweight.

TeaOneSugar Ah that could be it!
