If I liked Oasis and wearing "classic" styles- where do you recommend I shop now?

Hi oh knowledgable ones. I like many of you am sure, am gutted at the closure of oasis. Any ideas of where else to shop?

I already shop in new look, DP and H&M but find their quality decreasing and want to spend a little bit more on more quality items.

I'm a few weeks post partum so am wearing a lot of button through midi dresses, wrap midi dresses, wide leg cropped trousers and breast feeding friendly tops. I wear these things normally too along with midi skirts, fitted trousers/cigarette style with blouses or pretty tops and brogues/sandals etc, and jump suits etc.

I'm 30 and struggling to find outfits/shops that aren't frumpy but are reasonable affordability and quality wise.

I like Boden (in the sales) and love Joules (live rurally).

And other stories is nice and have a few bits from there, same with french connection.

I'm looking for an oasis replacement basically!!

Phase8?

WellIWasInTheNeighbourhoo · 06/08/2020 17:16

Jigsaw, Hobbs, J. Crew, Esprit

Maybe too £££ full price but they are all having massive sales at the moment.

Gap have some nice basics too.

Ginfilledcats · 06/08/2020 17:31

@Budapestpest really!! I'm off to google!!!

Thanks for the other suggestions guys!

That Oasis website is depressing.

I absolutely love the site endource. You can search ‘shirt dress’ and it’ll show you loads of options from great sites and sale alerts!

I should say I find things I like and then seek them out on eBay a lot to grab a normally pricey bargain

DollyMixtureLulus · 07/08/2020 07:42

Your style sounds very similiar to mine. I buy occasionally from Mango and Massimo Dutti. Very rarely find anything in Zara these days- in fact Abercrombie had more things I liked.

MabelMoo23 · 07/08/2020 13:39

Just to make you aware that both Oasis and Warehouse are now owned by Boohoo

So, modern slavery aside, expect appalling quality at the same price as before

BusterGonad · 07/08/2020 14:00

Joanie is retro and quirky but I love Oasis and also like a lot of Joanie.

BusterGonad · 07/08/2020 14:06

Also with Joanie they do a lot of polyester but seem to be bringing in a lot more cotton button through dresses, I think they've realised that nobody wants polyester anymore. They are also a British company if that means anything to you.

RainbowFlowers · 07/08/2020 14:23

Next
M&S if its a city one where its not full of frumpy stuff
Zara
Urban outfitters

BanningTheWordNaice · 07/08/2020 14:32

I know. I’m gutted, I bought the attached just before they went bust and it’s honestly one of the best made pieces of clothing I own and I usually also shop in Reiss at three times the price!!

If I liked Oasis and wearing "classic" styles- where do you recommend I shop now?
BanningTheWordNaice · 07/08/2020 14:34

When boohoo took over Karen Millen they sacked all their pattern cutters so I’m guessing they’ve done the same with Oasis, oasis worked for me as an apple because their shape worked and I don’t trust the new company to be as good!

noworklifebalance · 07/08/2020 19:03

Oh I love Oasis Sad - was lamenting to a work colleague about it. Not too young, not too frumpy, one of the few shops I could buy online and know it would fit and not expensive.

buzzy1 · 07/08/2020 21:05

Most of my clothes are Oasis so I’m on the hunt for a replacement too. I’ve bought some nice Louche tops at Joy which are a similar style

PerditaNitt · 07/08/2020 22:30

Joanie is a good option. Some
Boden pieces are a bit oasis-esque. A few years back I found that red herring in Debenhams had a bit of an oasis vibe, but not sure if that was just for one season

WillowB · 07/08/2020 23:20

Sugarhill boutique for dresses & tops

BusterGonad · 07/08/2020 23:55

Yes to Sugarhill boutique. Cute animal prints and fun stuff.

Budapestpest · 08/08/2020 09:10

Has oasis changed what it does now then? I don’t really shop there so I don’t know what it’s normally like but the website it still there, has it changed for the worse then, because it certainly hasn’t disappeared?
