removing hair dye without damaging hair

I stupidly dyed my (previously blonde) hair darker brown and its ended up sort of dark blonde but not in a good way - its duller than before and doesnt suite my skin tone. The problem is, I'd managed to get my hair in really good condition before (it was all shiny and soft) and I'm trying to grow it longer so I don't want to muck it up permanently trying to remove the colour. Apperently it should last 8 weeks before it starts to fade and its not awful - but if theres a way I can fade it faster without risking the condition Id love to know. The internet recommends crazy things like baking soda and washing up liquid but it also reccoments putting onions on ones face to get rid of spots so I am suspicious... (Oh and apple cider vinegar but apparently that cures everything) Hmm

I'm an idiot I know - I actually had nice hair for once.

Head and Shoulders is meant to be quite good at fading colour out better than other shampoos. Washing liquid might dry your hair out a bit but wouldn't think it would be terribly damaging - could try it once and just give it a good condition after?

Thanks - Ill try the head and shoulders and then maybe the washing up liquid if it still isnt great. Im just a bit cautious because my (very fine hair) was either super flyaway or lank until I started mostly washing my hair with conditioner only and only shampooing once a week or so if it needed it - but hopefully some extra shampooing cant hurt long term...

It should fade out pretty quick OP I have used a medium ash colour on my own blonde hair and for a week at most it’s been the colour you describe them fades really quick .
