Me!!! I love it too and autumn colours love me 🙂.

Haven't bought anything yet but it's only a matter of time.

No I hate buying clothes that I can't wear straight away! I have also found in the past that if I buy clothes and put them away for ages, I have gone off them by the time it comes to wear them Sad

I agree but then find that I go in and the shop is stocking mainly the season ahead.
berryberry44 · 04/08/2020 08:40

I've been known to buy something in the past then not like it.
I think that's why I stick to basics now that i know il wear.

I wouldn't buy at this point but yeah I'm already thinking about it. There are always howls of protest if you dare start a thread on it before the clocks go back but, as far as I'm concerned, this is the fun stage, before reality and disappointment set in.

My main plan is to find ways of adding colour without buying lots of new things. I've slipped into a grey rut these past few winters and I want out.

doadeer · 04/08/2020 09:08

Oooh yes me! I have auburn hair and green eyes so this season is the one for me!

I love beautiful jewel colours and warm autumn.

Chelsea boots and a bold.lip!

berryberry44 · 04/08/2020 09:21

@Floisme I try and add a bit of colour with scarfs.
I love a red scarf in winter.

I like autumn/winter clothes but I'm expecting there to be a shortage this year. There won't be the usual choice.

Floisme · 04/08/2020 09:54

Unfortunately I avoid scarves except for keeping warm berry - they're like a sign around my neck pointing to my jowls. But yeah going to try and achieve some colour through other accessories.

Red is one of the colours I'm after but it'll have to be the right shade and I'm already steeled for disappointment.

Brightyellow · 04/08/2020 09:58

I prefer summer clothes and obviously this year I have not bought much for obvious reasons nor have I worn some of my nicer stuff.

Im not going back to work yet so can’t see me buying much this autumn either.

I love clothes and fashion so feeling hard done by this year!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/08/2020 10:27

Checking in. This summer has been a non-event here, so I am definitely thinking about autumn.

It looks like I will still be working from home, so I am thinking about warmth - chilly granite property - more than anything. I need to get some more heat-tech base layers, and I would like a couple of mock-neck sweaters from Other Stories, plus a cardigan I have my eye on from Arket.

I bought some oxblood DM Church monkey boots on Depop last month - I already have the black ones from last winter - and am excited to start wearing them.

It’s not really me, but I think I need some sort of hoody I can chuck on over my clothes at home, but easily remove for meetings.

SparkyBlue · 04/08/2020 10:35

I absolutely love Autumn/winter clothes. I'm a pale skinned freckled redhead and summer stuff just doesn't look that great on me. I bought a several nice casual day dresses at the end of the winter sales and two new coats so I'm all set to go.

Floisme · 04/08/2020 10:39

Not strictly style but, if my employer starts making noises about working from home permanently then I will be speaking to them about a heating allowance. And a decent office chair. I'm not far off retirement so not too worried about making myself unpopular and I intend to make the most of it.

Anyway clothes... the Red I'm after is the exact same shade as the poppies in our garden if anyone sees it! Thanks in advance.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/08/2020 10:43

Autumn is my favourite! I really don't need anything much though. I'd like, as always, a new black jumper and black jacket. Maybe some sort of tweedy or wool pencil skirt. And maybe a pair of casual trousers that are not jeans.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to getting out the fishnets and biker jackets!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/08/2020 10:54

floisme there is some way to claim tax relief on heating - I think it’s about £6 a week - our union sent stuff out about it. Once I know for sure what the plan is I think I will ask for a chair too. My back still hurts with teaching March to June at the kitchen table, even after almost six weeks off!

Floisme · 04/08/2020 10:57

Ah thank you judy Brew

CatBatCat · 04/08/2020 11:42

Yep, I treated myself to a lovely oversized aran cable knit jumper in stone/cream colour. I already have a similar in navy but with my jeans, denim and corduroy skirts it looks a little too blue altogether so this will make me feel a bit brighter. I just need to try and not get my dinner all down it like I usually do.

Next I'll be checking my tights and throwing out the ones with holes and looking for replacements.

NCbecauseitspersonal · 04/08/2020 12:11

@floisme try Kettlewell colours for lots of shades of different colours. Some things are ££, some things are not.

Click on the colour that you like and you will see what they have in that shade. There is a £19 infinity scarf under True Red, if that floats your boat...

They also have lots of ideas about contrasty colours... obvs their aim is to sell lots of stuff, but I find it v helpful in thinking about what I already have.

Floisme · 04/08/2020 13:19

Thanks NC I forget about Kettlewell but I used to buy their ruched skirts. That colour search is useful although annoyingly, the poppy red and true red both look a bit darker than I'd like. Admittedly it's hard to be sure from the screen. Did I mention I'm a pain in the arse about colour Grin

Zenithbear · 04/08/2020 13:26

Autumn is the best season for me clothes wise. I've already got new boots x 3 and a soft grey wool scarf.
I'm after some new leather jeans, my old ones need replacing.
