I walk to school and back twice a day so they need to be comfortable and fairly easy to walk in. Not that i'd wear them all day every day but when i do, that's what i need to be able to do in them.

I also have one day a week where I'm children free and on that day i do like to dress myself up a bit more and look/feel feminine/sexy.

I'll need to be able to wear them with trousers and skirts.

Left over from last year I have some brown fake suede M&S high heel pointy toe skinny boots. Also some tan leather low thick heel chunky boots.

So please tell me what one pair should I buy this year ?

TIA

Bumping this because I also want to know the answer.
Went looking at boots on Saturday and was overwhelmed by the choices so bought nothing.
Hopefully someone with some style sense will answer.

I need some too
would like wedge heels and probably brown (cos puppydavies says so )
will watch with interest
(sorry not to be able to, you know, offer any helpful advice or anything)

Riding style boots are meant to be in, so not pointy and fairly flatsh, or small blocky heal.

sophierosie · 02/10/2007 20:48

I've just got these and I'm completely loving them - they are so comfortable so great for walking as well as smart for work. They have a wedge heel which is great for me! These are in brown but they also do them in black too - am tempted to get both colours!

those are nice sophierose - can you tell me whether the actual leg of the boot is fairly wide or narrow? I have quite slender calves (the only slender things about me unfortunately ) and find boots a nightmare but really want brown wedge heeled wonders

I noticed that Tchibo are going to have some in next week's selection of stuff. Only £39 seems a good price for leather boots.

granarybeck · 02/10/2007 21:58

Oo sophierose, they are lovely, and a nice dark brown too! I've got quite skinny calves too but am worrying as they look widish at top but i really like them!

sophierosie · 02/10/2007 22:07

The width at the top of the boots is 15" which I guess is wider than average (lucky really given my wider than average legs ) but I think because they are in a 'slouch' style you could get away with them if you are lucky enough to have slender legs better pictures here

granarybeck · 02/10/2007 22:11

Thanks, they're good pics. Not really got slender legs, just skinny calves! Makes legs look bit shapeless if not careful.

Have you got black or brown? I like the brown but have got brown boots, have you worn with skirts?

jeangenie · 02/10/2007 22:12

mmm, they do look good - will check out Jones tomorrow
oh, and before you go too I will point out that it is only my calves that are slyphlike, the rest of my legs from knee up are like a shotputters

sophierosie · 02/10/2007 22:30

I've got the brown ones - they look good with skirts - have worn for casual and work so will definitely get loads of wear out of them... in fact am now considering buying 2 pairs

pneumalifenewname · 02/10/2007 22:34

Liking the Tchibo ones - I think that's what style I want as have tan wedges and also suede kitten heel and black and brown suede ugg type boots...

Have been reading that the 80s are coming back and therefore ankle boots are going to be back in fashion for the next 6 months. However I cannot move away from wedges casue they are jsut so comfy
