What colour goes with royal blue tops?

Doesn’t seem to work with blue jeans. Black kills the colour. Navy doesn’t look right.
If I had royal blue trousers or skirt I would wear with white tops as I think that really works, but i wouldnt wear white On my bottom half.
How do I make my royal blue jumpers and tops work for me? The colour looks really good on me but just don’t seem to be able to wear them

Khaki or olive are interesting options, I’ll try those. I agree with pp that royal blue is possibly easier on bottom half as white tops look great, but I don’t want to wear white on my bottom half.
In theory grey should work and I agree it won’t look wrong, but also feels like it lets the colour of the blue down a bit. For example, a hot pink in my view looks it’s very best with burgundy or magenta but I can’t find that complimentary tonal blue that works. Pairing a bright with black or grey just sometimes feels a bit lacklustre.

Royal blue makes navy look dowdy. That’s why it isn’t working.

I pair a navy fcuk dress with fleuro yellow sandals from kg and it really makes the yellow pop.

I wear it with teal or turquoise a lot. Also green in a similar tone

I think pale dove grey works well, which probably explains why pale denim looks good too. I have some cream cotton crops that look quite good with royal blue too. I think I’d feel a bit early 80s if I tried it with bright colours, but that’s probably only because I remember the early 80s!
