I was planning on losing 3 stone before the event but it hasn't happenend so now I can't find anything I like that looks half decent. I am a size 14 ish but usually go for 16/18 to cover my baby belly. What on earth do you wear to weddings these days, haven't been to one for yonks. It will be the first wedding for us to go to as a family with the 2 DC so want to look nice (gorgeous actually for the photos.

Anyone any ideas, please??

what's your budget?

alfielooloo · 29/09/2007 21:21

Don't really want to spend too much as DC also need new outfits. Ideally, I would lkie something that isnt too dressy so that I could wear it again.

What about a wrap top that shows off your assets and draws the eye away from any areas you want to hide? I wear mine now with jeans and get lots of wear out of it - shame I can't say the same about the white Monsoon summer trousers I bought to go with it!

well, I don't know what you would consider as too much but I recently tried on three jersey dresses in LK Bennett and they were all gorgeous and all cost £99.

But I've just looked at the website and only one of them is still listed although I tried it in red here

This one is similar to some I tried on here

They might be too casual for you but they fit beautifully, very flattering, and I can wear it on all sorts of other occasions.

(and I got mine for a wedding)

alfielooloo · 30/09/2007 12:46

They look lovely, are they quite clingy though? I do tend to go for something looser to cover up my wobbly bits

Wrap dresses are great to cover the bits you don't want anyone to see & draws the eye away from a tummy to your boobs!!

here

This is lovely too

There are lots of lovely dresses on there & not too dear! Lots of casually tops as well that you could accessorise up to look glam

(where's yours, alfielooloo? Mine's a gay civil partnership in Fulham, followed by massivo knees-up!!)

alfielooloo · 30/09/2007 14:08

Mine's in Swindon, posh hotel. Civil one too.

I don't think we have an LK Bennett shop round here, am going to look on their website to see where the nearest one is, as I do think I would get to wear that type of dress on other occasions.
I like the Simply B dress too, am going to look on their website now.

Thanks everyone, fingers crossed I find something that makes me look gorgeous

depends how big and wobbly your big, wobbly bits are! Can they be partially contained with strong pants?

I am a bit bulgy round the middle and tend towards a 14, but because the dresses are jersey the 12 fitted really well (they didn't have 14 in stock) and actually skimmed quite nicely over tummy and hips. They go up to 16.

The first dress is fairly gathered round middle too. Very flattering if you like your tits.
