Ordering from Next online- I don’t want a credit account

I want to order from next online but can’t work out if they automatically set up a credit account for you. If I register do they automatically do a credit search on you? I just want to pay by card.

No just pay by card

I only ask as about 15 years ago I ordered online and they set me up an account (despite me paying on card) and sent me catalogues. We lived in a flat and I didn’t realise I was being sent copies of the catalogue as neighbours nicked them. I found out after I’d missed payments and it affected my credit.

I ordered from there Monday, definitely just paid by card although, they do have installments available.

I just pay by card.

Do they still send the catalogue? I haven’t seen one for ages.

The option to pay by card was a bit less prominent than the set up a credit account option, but it was definitely there when I first purchased from Next.

I just pay by card. I'm not sure they do the whole "next direct" thing these days, that was before the age of online shopping wasn't it?

I usually pay by card if I ever order but recently signed up to the account to get £10 off. Then I closed it

You can definitely just pay up front by card - I've ordered a load of home stuff from there recently and just paid outright with my debit card.

I was sent a code for ten pounds off couldn't get it to work, the next day a email from next came saying sorry the code was wrong hear is another one, that didn't work either.

Where is the option to pay by card? I ordered a load of things last night, signed into my account then at checkout the only two options I had were 'add to account' or 'pay by gift voucher' or similar.

I just shoved something in my basket and went to checkout. I could pay by next pay or voucher or ecard . Next pay seems to include all these options:
Online
Next credit account, Nextpay, or Next3Step
All major credit and debit cards
Next gift cards and e-vouchers
Paypal

Thanks @Sooverthemill I think it might have defaulted to my next account so I'll have another try

This is what put me off Next, too. Must have been about five or six years ago now, but I tried to order and it set me up with a credit account (which I then closed). I've avoided it since and other sites that are similar (Very, etc.).
