DS is 14 and well over 6 foot and skinny as can be. Between us we have absolutely no dress sense. Since he was born he's worn hand me downs as neither of us like shopping and we've been lucky with friends kids being bigger. He has just shot up and is now about 6' 3" all legs and arms. We are both mildly autistic and struggle with understanding fashions and style. He said today he wants clothes too look cool but in all honesty I haven't a clue and nor does he. Can anyone help?
Where should we shop, we haven't got loads of money but can afford a bit?
What style should we go for? What sort of jeans/trouser/joggers/tops are in fashion? what suits someone so tall and skinny? These are for clothes to hang out with friends with.
Any ideas really really appreciated. Thank you!

Have you or he looked at Lindex? Its swedish so good for longer length without being too wide for my 10yo. If you look at what the models wear it might give some inspiration for what "goes" together.

I’d recommend asos, I don’t have a DS but my step brother is 16 and I know that he wears joggers from Asos (their own branded Asos ones) and also their plain crew neck t shirts. They do a skinny fit in the joggers, also on all products they give the models height so it is a good way to gage if they are likely to fit.
I always think if in doubt on styles etc. you can’t go wrong with the basic colours- black, white , grey, navy? My brother seems to wear black jeans, black / grey joggers with plain ish t shirts etc. Then normally a pair of trainers he would deem ‘cool’.
For anything smarter he would wear jeans and a polo, again simple colours and no patterns etc.

Hope this helps and you get your ds sorted!

It’s very difficult to get the leg length for tall skinny teens, virtually impossible in joggers but as PP said ASOS has a tall range which is great. DS lives in black or grey jeans/joggers but I do try to introduce colour in the top half! Hollister has some nice soft greens and blues. Although I tend to haunt EBay for these to save money.

Try 2tall.com

I also recommend ASOS. My son is also 14, tall and skinny and it's the only place I can find jeans to fit.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I'll have a look as ASOS tomorrow with him and see if we find stuff he likes (he will most likely agree to the first thing to stop the shopping bit!)
2tall and Lindex also look good.
