Where can I get a quality brown or fawn coat for ds (age 5-6)? Duffle would be good!

I've trailed round town all morning. I have found a 'designer' navy duffle coat in Debenhams and a fleece one in m&s which is already bobbly in the shop...

Our local uniform/gents shop closed last year. I am stuffed

Please help me!

I googled for one - Cotswold Kids do a brown duffle-style coat but it's not cheap...I would recommend browsing online rather than town!

flowerybeanbag · 28/09/2007 13:30

I immediately thought Monsoon but only this on their website, which is not brown. But they do have more in shops than online, so maybe worth ringing them or something to see if they have it in brown or fawn?

eleanorsmum · 28/09/2007 13:35

the lidls leaflet came through the door today with next weeks offers on, some coats for kids are shown at very reasonable prices. do you have one locally? they do have store finder on website

Aww that Monsoon one is sweetness personified! He would prob get away with black actually.
Thanks so much for all your answers, girls.

However!

I looked on the Debenhams website in passing, as I'd seen that navy one (and actually bought it out of desperation) and they have it in brown!! It was out of stock on the site but I rang them up and they checked and apparently they do have one in an age 6, in my local shop - weird as I didn't see it and I looked for ages earlier. But anyway, it has been reserved and I'm going to swap the other one tomorrow

It is lovely and will be even better in brown.
I just hope they were telling the truth!!

Thanks again for all your help. xx

The Boden duffles aren't machine washable though!

nappyaddict · 29/09/2007 08:33

nappyaddict · 29/09/2007 08:54

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/09/2007 09:09

na - you're on a roll! Can you find one for a toddler girl too?!

Blandmum · 29/09/2007 09:12

If you are looking for a duffle, and don't mind forking out quite a lot of cash I would recomend Gloverall.

They cost about £60 £70 pounds but they are exceptional quality and last for ages. My kids have them for school, and one lasted us 5 years!

Buy big to start with !

Susianna · 29/09/2007 13:03

Wow! You gals in the style and beauty bit are so on the case!!!

There's a Gloverall on ebay I'm going to bid on, MB. I thought it looked nice but now you've said that I'll definitely try for it!

Got the brown one this morning from Debs, 30 quid so not bad and I can get the difference back if it gets reduced, because I opened an account there.

So am sorted for now, thanks again for all your help! I'll know where to ask next time

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/09/2007 22:32

Thanks na . Will bookmark it for next year, as they are a little big for dd now (she's 19 months), and are dry clean only (I'm hoping she'll be a bit less messy by next year!)

nappyaddict · 01/10/2007 00:30
