What is your makeup removal/skincare routine?

Currently am using a cleanser to remove make up, wash with water and purifying face wash, then applying the ordinary hyaluronic acid and then top with La Roche Posay thick face cream.

So far noticing my skin is in much better condition, but still having troublesome blackheads

What is your routine and what products are your go to?

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I wonder if it is to do with my make up as I do find I only need to wear make up for a day or two and I get an outbreak. I try to give my fave a break and not wear it much but my skin is so uneven and read. I have lots of dark spots and uneven skin.

I did try an oil based double cleanser but didn't get on with it as felt like my skin was greasy and it gave me more spots. If I neglect my skincare for even a day I have an outbreak. I find it exhausting to be on top of it all the time and even when I am it only gets marginally better.

I am going to buy some retinol. Can you get the stronger one over the counter? When I was younger I did get a prescription for it but it didn't do that much good, instead left my skin dry and red.

When you change products how long should you wait to see if it works before discounting it?

My routine is
Am
Cleanser- was using Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser but recently changed to murad.
Toner- caudalie and/or bioderma
Serum- was using drunk elephant.
Moisturiser- Sunday Riley. not regularly as I feel it leads to more sports but my then my skin is very dry so make up doesn't look good in places.

To be honest I have got so confused with my skincare and so frustrated with my skin and have tried so many products I don't know what to do anymore. I feel shit about my skin.

Here's a picture of it. Is never really gets better than this only worse. So it's quite good at the moment, for me. But obviously compared to most it's awful. Would you say this is adult acne?

Pm- same.

I can’t see the picture.

All spots are acne anyway. Same as all nerve pains neuralgia.

Three evenings a week I use a GloPro microneedling device on my face and neck, and use the lip attachment on my lips. My routine before I use that is:

  • Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
  • GloPro Skin Prep Pads (just before using the GP)
  • Afterwards use Dermatica Tretinoin (0.025%) Niacinamide (4%) lotion. This was prescribed after uploading a picture on Dermatica's website and the lotion is tailored to your skin.

I also suffer with acne. I have only been using the Dermatica lotion for a few weeks so it's too early to see what the long-term difference will be. Short-term, it has left my skin a bit flaky, but that's to be expected with the Tretinoin, and had a few spots appear. However, the spots seem to have eased off.
