Eyeliner leaks out the corners of my eyes

I always wear an eyeliner pencil on my bottom eye rim and nowadays it leaks out the corners of my eyes.
Is it because I’m getting older (44) or is there a better product that doesn’t do this .
I tend to buy whatever is in the supermarket so Maybelline etc. I can’t afford designer prices.
Or is there a product I can put on my eye corners to stop the eyeliner running. ?

Pixi eyeliner (endless silky eye pen) wont budge- you could go swimming and it stays!

Btw if you find your eyes are always watery in the corners, you could have a touch of blepharitis so make sure you always clean your eyelids thoroughly before going to bed every day. You can get special eyelid cleaner from boots for this.
