Bra to wear with pjs when in company?

Snooks1971 · 06/07/2020 21:53

Apologies for the terrible title. Also sorry if I don’t reply tonight if I do get any responses!
This is my silly dilemma:
I’m 49 with 34FFs. We are going on a UK holiday soon with another family who we know really well and always holiday with so have seen each other at our worst...but just lately they seem to swing a bit low and wobbly (more than usual)
Need a bra that isn’t obvious but keeps them in place a bit.
Does such an undergarment exist??

You want a soft, unwired t-shirt style bra. I wear my old nursing bras under my pjs on such occasions.

Cherrybakewellard · 06/07/2020 22:01

Asda do lots of non wired bras, I have a collection for PJ purposes.

ShirleyPhallus · 06/07/2020 22:04

Primarily soft cup sports bra are perfect for this, Amazon also do them

Jockey bralettes are the best, I am 36f and wear a XL, tried other makes but they are not as good, you can get two packs on ebay.

Swiftier · 06/07/2020 22:04

Have you seen vests with built in support, like these:

www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/innerwear-and-loungewear/bras-and-underwear/bratops

Uniqlo have a few under ‘bra tops’

I’ve worn similar with PJ bottoms before and they are comfy enough to sleep in but give a bit of support.

ShirleyPhallus · 06/07/2020 22:04

*primark!

Atomsaway · 06/07/2020 22:05

I often wear soft seemless pull over bras under pjs. I get them from amazon and they’re really comfy.

Thinkpinkstink · 06/07/2020 22:05

I wear a soft yoga bralette that I bought from TKMaxx for this type of thing.

HoobleDooble · 06/07/2020 22:09

I'm a 38 H and got a twin pack of sports bras from Tesco for a few quid. I wouldn't risk actually doing any kind of sport in them but they are comfy, non-wired and keep them off my knees if I have to answer the door when I'm in my pyjamas.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 06/07/2020 22:09

i have 34 ffs too. i have a couple of these which i wear with pj bottoms i already had

www.bravissimo.com/products/pj-racerback-cami-top-nw248/#mauve-nw248mau

comfortable enough to sleep in and supportive enough to be seen in. i think they're great. although they don't wash well (go bobbly) so i'd buy in the sale

MeadowHay · 06/07/2020 22:12

I wear Emma Jane sleep bras for this, which I discovered at the end of my pregnancy when I was looking for nursing wear. They're cheap and I find them very comfy, but they're not "real" bras in the sense that they don't really provide much support and they don't hide your nipples. I'm only a 28E so I'm not sure if they would be 'enough' for you but worth a look. Bralettes might be another good option.

TheWashingMachine · 06/07/2020 22:29

I got some at sainsburys which are good.

KatharinaRosalie · 06/07/2020 22:36

Bravissimo PJs are great, and they also do a sleep bra

isabellerossignol · 06/07/2020 22:42

Primark do some really comfortable sports* bras that are great for under pyjamas. They pull over the your head and have sort of crossover straps at the back. I wear a 32H bra, and find the size 14-16 works well. It is supportive enough that I would even venture to Tesco in it, if I was wearing something that wasn't too tight fitting.

*They would be completely useless for sport though, I wouldn't dream of using it as an actual sports bra.

Snooks1971 · 07/07/2020 20:06

Thanks everyone and sorry for my 24 hours later response!

I neglected to mention that we are going on holiday this coming Saturday and so time isn’t on my side for online ordering and because of work I haven’t got time to go to Primark either.

Instead I was in our local ish small town and went into Peacocks. Yes Peacocks. No other choice I’m afraid but I took all your fab recommendations on board and am currently wearing a black stretchy non underwired stretchy comfort bra.

It might not be the best but it’s a total revelation and after holiday I will visit Primark, look up Jockies, and defo those gorgeous Bravissimo tops. I’ve turned the corner of needing ‘non bra’ bras! Thanks everyone.

I am 34H and have been wearing the soft, seam free, wire free, buckle free bras from Morrisons I get the XL size and take out the removable cups. They don’t provide the most support but enough to keep them in a decent place for sleeping and lounging.

A lot of the places mentioned up thread (supermarkets mainly) won’t do your size. Asda for example go up to a G (apparently) but don’t do double cup sizes so the bigger sizes are all too small. Tesco is the same. Most will However do the soft ‘sports’ style wire free bras in standard sizes (or S M L XL Or 10 12 14 etc).

Bravissimo do pjs and vest tops with built in bras, they are expensive though. Most big boob brands do soft cup, wire free bras but again they are not cheap.

Imtoooldforallthis · 08/07/2020 15:53

Glad you got sorted, I wear the peacocks ones, just to say the bralet ones are good as they have a thin strap.

BikeRunSki · 08/07/2020 15:57

Late to this, but Oddballs

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 08/07/2020 15:59

I had to sew the straps a bit shorter as they're not adjustable, but these deal admirably with my post kid 38Gs

I got them for travelling actually, as I was fed up with always getting a patdown because of my underwires, and they're very comfortable, and surprisingly supportive/wearable outside the house!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 08/07/2020 16:03

I was going to say Oddballs too! I'm a 32F, size 14 and I recently ordered a size medium. It looked bloody tiny when it arrived but they are surprisingly stretchy. It did end up being slightly too small though so I've returned for a large.
It won't be very supportive but I just want something for lounging or even sleeping in.

Ellapaella · 08/07/2020 19:17

I have loads of bralettes - they are perfect for this kind of thing. My favourite ones are all M&S.

Snooks1971 · 08/07/2020 20:51

Omg @BikeRunSki @IToldYouIWasFreaky I love the Oddballs! 2nd evening of wearing my Peacocks and I’m never going to hang loose again. How is the sizing with Oddballs? It says size S for 33-35 boobs. Small? That can’t be right.

OP posts:
BikeRunSki · 08/07/2020 21:10

@Snooks1971, I’m a 34F and wear a large, I’d say sizing is slightly on the small size, but that may be deliberate for supportiveness.

Snooks1971 · 08/07/2020 21:17

Thanks so much @BikeRunSki I’ve been reading the reviews - are they supportive at all, or do you have to hoick the bad boys up?

OP posts:
mammmamia · 08/07/2020 21:40

I have some kind of bralette thing from Uniqlo which is perfect for what you describe. It’s very comfy but I don’t know if they go up to F.
