Hairdresser next week. Where do I go with this ?

I was due a cut just after lockdown so by the time I see the hairdresser it will be over 21 weeks. I usually have it done every 5 weeks so I've gone from short pixie cut to the current pudding bowl. A number of people have said that they really like it a bit longer so I'm wondering about not getting it all chopped off. It's quite thick and has a natural wave but I'm keen not to go down the straightener route (which I did last time I grew it a bit). Nearly 57 so the jawline is not what it was and I understand chin length hair can be unflattering at this age. Any ideas on where I could go with this ? Please excuse the colour, the sun has made it a bit orange.

Something like this? Take some weight off the front.

Great minds Horsemad ! I had already saved that exact image to Pinterest Smile. I've also seen some nice wavy bob cuts but I'm not sure they would be especially flattering on me.

That's a nice one Jane but wonder if it would work on my thick hair. I think I'm after a long short cut if that makes sense so these ideas are definitely on the right lines. Something a bit softer than my previous pixie cut.

Ha, glad you liked it - someone posted it on here a few weeks ago & I saved it. 🙂
I also like the one JaneJeffer posted.
