shoe quest - comfy heels?

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 13:07

mn shoe sleuths, please help.

am looking for round toe shoes with a small heel (1-2.5") that are as comfy as my beloved destroy boots (along these lines). colour pref brown or red. what i really want are these but while they'd be fab for extra curricular stuff i need something everyday. i'm sahm and i walk loads, mostly w/baby in sling, so i need something rather more sensible .

what about these www.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=X40&p=300&s=5&n=Women's&pid=361-817-X40&extra=sch&exclude=00E00&ref=http%3 a%2f%2fsearch%2enext%2eco%2euk%2fsearch%3fp%3dQ%26ts%3dv2%26w%3dshoes%26srid%3dS5%2d1%26lbc%3dnext%2 6af%3d%26cnt%3d%26images%3don%26srt%3d%26isort%3dscore%26method%3dand%26format%3d%26nb%3d%26np%3d

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 13:11

I heart those red shoes!

not good for walkign though

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 13:34

yeah i heart them too. they're clouding my judgement majorly as all possible sensible options are being compared to them and being found wanting

perhaps i should buy both

OP posts:
puppydavies · 27/09/2007 13:35

they have a nice sturdy heel at least, but that height would throw my back out for slinging.

the destroy ones are 2" but are a dream to walk in, i think cos the wedge is wide. do they make shoes with that kind of heel at all? have looked but found nothing similar - all much narrower.

I think you need a pair o these schuh yuna my friend has then and says they are the comfiest shoes she has ever had. Not too flat...not as glam as your ebay version but they look cool on

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 15:06

oooh i think you may be onto something there. looks like it has a decent width on the sole, although i'm not sure about the platformy bit. i luurve fly and ideally i'd like something with a sole rather like a lot of their sandals but for some reason no-one seems to make shoes like that.

good to have your friend's recommendation too. cheers genie

clarks- spent years avoiding heels of any form, now you can't drag me out of them

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 15:11

are the fly ones too sandally for the winter?

(pic here)

OP posts:
puppydavies · 27/09/2007 15:12

can anyone suggest something from clarks that i can see without having to go to their abominable website?

OP posts:
MamaG · 27/09/2007 15:15

here

preggersagain · 27/09/2007 15:16

what about a trip to brantano? they stock a lot of clarks and hush puppy ranges- i got a lovely pair of ben sherman shoes there a few weeks ago.

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 15:18

LOADS of em

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 15:23

never heard of brantano, but apparently we have one. these are close but only in black

OP posts:
preggersagain · 27/09/2007 15:25

pop over to brantanos- they are great as all the shoes are laid out in sizes etc- nice and easy for us people who don't have the time or money to be shoe ponces

puppydavies · 27/09/2007 16:05

am nascent shoe ponce - have only just graduated onto proper shoes, but since am ponce in most other areas i'm sure it'll follow naturally

OP posts:
puppydavies · 27/09/2007 16:33

do brantano have stock in the shops that isn't on website? can't see anything i like online.

OP posts:
puppydavies · 27/09/2007 17:46

what do we think of these? crepe sole is good. have good legs, not sure how well they'll take such a thick high ankle strap tho

ps usc has the fly sandals for £35 if anyone's interested...

OP posts:
jeangenie · 27/09/2007 20:48

thanks for usc link (and all advice on other thread - please don't leave me yet!!!) I like the r or d shoes but would worry about the wide ankle strap (well I personally would also worry about ever being able to walk in the things but I assume you've thought of that and feel confident about your abilities in that regard!)
