OK coats again (sorry), wool vs moleskin???

I have ordered three coats to choose from.....but like them all . One is Wool, one is Wool blend and the other is Moleskin. All are lined and dry clean only.
Which is going to be the most practical. They will be my smart winter coat, but I will wear it quite often as my alternative is a fleece/waterproof 2 in one thingy, v practical but not that attractive.
Does Moleskin go funny if it gets wet?? Will the Woolen ones be much warmer.....help please?????
TIA

wool has some natural water repellency, cotton doesn't, so moleskin one may sog in the rain. wool ones will also be warmer.

wildpatch · 27/09/2007 18:26

i think wool is a better choice

I have a pair of black moleskin trousers, which pick up fluff like nobody's business and make me feel a bit scruffy.
Don't know that's just what moleskin's like or, if black Boden moleskin is to be avoided...

Hooray, some replies, thank you.
I too have decided the ruffle hem one is pants. I was trying to be a bit boho/trendy and sadly it doesn't suit me, though I still like the style.
The moleskin is the best fit I think, but boring brown, however feels lovely and quick to put on as is just a zip.
Woollen purple one is lovely colour on me (though the dark brown suits me too) and nice fit, but a bit shorter and fiddly buttons, but could be worn undone . I am useless as decisions.
So we still don't know how moleskin performs in the rain?? I don't intend to wear it in the rain but could easily get caught in a shower.....
Bump for the eve crowd too.
Will have to check for fluff picking up tendencies too
