Is Coast one of those brands that used to good but has gone downmarket?

I used to really dream about Coast dresses but the price was completely out of reach, even in the sales.

Scrolling through today they seem surprisingly affordable. It's true my idea of "affordable" will have changed over the years, but not that much, I don't think.

Are they still beautifully cut from lovely fabric?

I don't think that's the same company.

The original Coast went bust.

It was bought by Karen Millen, iirc. Still the same brand, but different owner.

No, they were bought recently by Boohoo (As were Karen millen) so I would imagine quality has taken a nosedive.

Ah! This makes sense I saw a lovely dress there a few months ago, was looking the other day and the branding / dresses are awful!

I used to love Coast, it felt glamorous to me, but I get the feeling on the website now its just a slightly nicer boohoo

I just had a look at the website and it's not the same Coast as old! Looks a bit cheap and nasty now tbh.

There is tons of older Coast on Ebay...
