Clarks shoes - dull or just about ok?

Anyone else being lured towards Clarks shoes -some of the autumn shoes seem to be fashionableish and comfortable? I basically want some reassurance that I'm not too middleaged...I'd link to the page but it won't let me copy the exact one...www.clarks.com/portal.html
I like and 'coco loco' and 'discopop'

Hello

I like Clarkes shoes as they fit me and I now choose comfort over fashion. I like the Disco Pop but not Coco Loco so much.
I know nothing though really but thought I would say hello.

(Sssh - don't tell anyone but I bought 2 pairs today and thought they were lovely!)

lizandlulu · 25/09/2007 19:58

hiya, im sorry i dont like any of those, but i do like some of clarks shoes, so i dont think you will look too middle aged!
im 27 and really like a stlye in there but they are not wide enough for my feet.
do think everything should be a tenner cheaper though!!

welshmum · 25/09/2007 20:22

canmummy so did I....but I've always thought Clarks too dull so the question is am I getting dull or are they getting better...I suspect I know the answer but I can't bear having painful shoes on all day for work.

I like them too.

Bought 2 pairs in the summer because not many brands fit the scrawny of foot like me and some Clarks styles do, so I have to like them! Their boots are no good though - way to big on my sparrow calves.

I'm a big fan of Clarks - i think we just have hang-ups about them from when we were frog-marched there as kids. I've got 2 pairs of work shoes this winter and in the past I;ve had stonking tarty high heels from them as well

zisforzebra · 25/09/2007 20:44

I like Coco loco best.

I bought two pairs from there last week. I bought "Cubin Heels" and another pair that look a bit like platform clogs with studs up the back (nicer than they sound!)

hatwoman · 25/09/2007 20:46

these are mine. more interestingly I just did a search for posts by me with the word "shoes" in them. and apparently there are 44.

welshmum · 25/09/2007 20:46

hatwoman were the stonky tarty heels any more comfortable than normal ones?

I bought cuban heels as well!

hatwoman · 25/09/2007 20:49

one pair in particular were fab - they were summery sandals - cross-over straps at the front, open toe, no heel strap. the leather was very soft and the heel was an excellent shape - the imprint of it, if you get what I mean would have been anarrow oblong - so looked elegant but pretty supportive. i am struggling to accept that they have passed their prime - I could, and did, happily wear them all day at several weddings

castille · 26/09/2007 14:48

Hatwoman - I've got those too! (the brown ones with mary-jane style strap). Love them. And I still have a pair of elegant Clarks strappy sandals that I have worn happily and comfortably to numerous weddings. Love them. Have even been known to buy an outfit specifically because it goes with them

This way for Clarks Anonymous...

kittylouise · 26/09/2007 14:55

zisforzebra - those platform studded clogs things - they are lovely, I am hoping to buy those this weekend, they look very cool. Think I saw them in Grazia or something.

Clarks is good for shoes for me, however for children's shoes it is the devil's own shoe shop.

hatwoman · 26/09/2007 19:55

snap castille re wedding outfits macthed to my shoes

dalmatianbabe · 27/09/2007 12:25

They have some fab ankle boot/shoe things too. I think they have got trendier. Or perhaps I have got squarer. No, dammit, they've got trendier.

welshmum · 27/09/2007 19:41

Update. I wore the coco loco for the whole day - that's the highest heels I've ever kept on for a whole work day with no sore feet. I'm not convinced they're nice BUT they're fine under trousers and I looked tall all day long
Still think Clarks are secretly dull so will have to indulge myself with seriously edgy shoes from somewhere else....off to look at those clogs now.
