Are all supermarkets out of 0-3 baby clothes, normal or Covid-19?

Hi,

I've been looking to order baby clothes for my first little man who is due in September. Mum recommended buying less expensive stuff from the supermarkets because he will grow out of them like crazy. I looked online and EVERYTHING reasonably priced is constantly out of stock! A friend laughed and told me that everything from nurseries to school clothes will be like this in my life from now on. Am I just a newbie at this or is it because of covid-19 lockdown?

I'm not too sure whether it is because of covid or not, but try pat pat, peacocks and matalan (will link all below). They are reasonably priced and seem to have things in stock

congratulations!

I’m 34 weeks and have found the same the same thing - I am sure that if I could easily pop into shops I would have laid my hands on some! We found some more pricy 0-3 (eg JoJo Maman, M and S - H and M also had some that were reasonable) but NOTHING for newborns. In the end I managed to get a friend who has Ocado to add some to her order and have paid her back. So not much help, but definitely not just you! Flowers

Oh I also got some 0-3 and 3-6 from pat pat actually

It's to do with covid. Dont worry! Stock should start coming in soon.

Try looking on Argos for sainsburys baby clothes, I got quite a few bits from there which are really nice.

My boy's due in September as well and I've had the same problem! I've had success getting 0-3 at M&S and I've seen bits and pieces in Next. I'm picking up vests and bodysuits and stuff here and there and waiting until the more autumn/winter appropriate stuff comes out! These little summer dungarees and stuff are too cute but of no use to me!

I am 39 weeks and really struggled to get newborn and 0-3 months clothes at all. Eventually when Next started delivery again I managed to get some sets. This is my fourth baby and I have never struggled getting basic clothes before so I think definitely Covid related.

Thanks for the replies I'm glad it's not just me being a naive first time muma. Annoying though, although pat pat has some massively cute outfits

It’s because of the situation, I’m due in August. Keep checking the sites as they are loading new stock fairly frequently. I’ve had success at next, H&M & Asda primarily.

fifiKma · 25/06/2020 07:27

In the end, some friends and family emerged with a tonne of baby clothes when I mentioned the situation so he won't be naked or wearing a pillowcase at least! Blush the health visitor will be pleased x

I just came on to say the same thing!!! This is crazy!

fifiKma · 28/06/2020 10:29

I know! A friend messaged me yesterday to say there are some outfits in tesco if you are willing to go into the big shops. I might cave and go have a rush around if it is still the same in a month or so x
