I need new knickers

I'm struggling. I have a load of lace topped VPL free shorts but they're all in synthetic fabric and now I'm heavier they ride up constantly and also slip down under my belly. I'm losing weight but I feel like binning them all and starting afresh. I hate thongs and anything too low but equally I feel about 100 in my m and s high/ full knickers. They're cotton so lovely on that front but just so high up they show over the top of my jeans.
I posted last year about something knicker related and can not find what I asked so apologies - I'm not some pants fetish person. Just a big bellied 40 something.

I now only wear the M&S Flexi fit modal midis... ridiculously soft and comfortable.

Bioprepper · 23/06/2020 13:46

I got some Brazilians from next and they were so comfy ive replaced all my knickers with them in different colours. i have a big tum and dont like them rolling down or coming up to my bra! i also dont like floral prints or anything with slogans or tacky pictures. These are perfect

Enb76 · 23/06/2020 14:07

I second oddballs as the comfiest knickers I own.

StarlightLady · 23/06/2020 18:45

@Bioprepper - I’ve just ordered a dress from Next. Although happy with my M&S Brazilians, l thought l’d treat myself to 3 of the Next Microfibre and lace and 3 of Next Brazilian Mesh. No multipacks, which means l don’t end up with white, grey or beige which l don’t want. Was tempted by the all over lace too, but you have to draw the line somewhere. I’ll report back. And on the dress.

Overall, l think comments on here show that it is all very well selling things in dress sizes, but different shaped bums need different shaped knix!

I bought these off the back of this thread www.amazon.co.uk/INNERSY-Underwear-Knickers-Panties-Multipack/dp/B07CGY8PL2/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8 & happy wiv 'em. They are like control pants but in the most comfortable way. Thanks to who ever posted them.

VeganCow · 25/06/2020 22:04

This that 2 have linked to on Amazon are they very high up like over belly button? Hate knickers that come high over a jeans waistband which is why I like tha Asda lace top midis. But must say those Amazon ones look comfy. Also are they true to size as am a 16 but don’t want to get 16 if they are a little on the large size.

Whoever mentioned Brazilian ones I looked at them and good god I couldnt wear them. They cut your arse cheeks in half?!

StarlightLady · 26/06/2020 05:45

No “cut in half” issues”. I won’t say “arse” because it’s early in the morning. Grin

The softness of my Brazilians mean the lace just “flows” into the fabric, no seam. Hence comfy for me. I have some all over lace ones too.

dinodiva · 26/06/2020 07:25

I’ve gone from M&S knickers to Tu ones. Vastly superior I have found! They do some comfort waistband ones, which I like.

Bagelsandbrie · 26/06/2020 07:29

I ordered some Brazilians off the back of this thread and had to sent them straight back... might as well have been thongs! So uncomfortable and kept riding up my size 16 bum. I am going to stick to their (m and s) midi knickers although they’re not as good as they used to be, they’re cut higher across the bum now. I like full bum coverage but not full briefs as they go too high up the stomach !

ballroompink · 26/06/2020 07:31

Yes it totally depends on bum shape! I hate Brazilian ones as I'm pear shaped and they provide no coverage and just ride up ny bum. So uncomfortable!

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 26/06/2020 07:47

Stripe and Stare knickers are great -they are made from modal and are really comfortable and flattering, also no vpl. They are quite expensive, but I've managed to buy them when on sale in a couple of places.

EmmaStone · 26/06/2020 09:49

VS bikinis for me bought in their 5 for ?£27 or whatever the deal is. I've been buying them from the US for years, and love the colours, patterns and shape.

Polkadotpjs · 27/06/2020 12:23

I thought you couldn't send knickers back?

My favourite ones are Tu, off the random styles section rather than a pack (3 for £10 I think) midi length, enough to keep my floppy belly in a little without full on support and sits fine under mid rise jeans.

Mumdiva99 · 27/06/2020 22:39

@Throughabushbackwards thanks for the recommendation of the innersy ones. I bought a pack - pricey compared to my morrisons multipack. (But don't forget I saved on the £50 trolley of food I would have bought in store).

@VeganCow they are over the belly button. But still comfy.....

Growingboys · 27/06/2020 22:40

M&S high leg cotton bikini. Can't go wrong.

Throughabushbackwards · 27/06/2020 23:21

Glad pp are getting on well with the innersy ones.

Vegan they are quite high and do sit above my jeans.
