How you stand when you try something on and look in the mirror

I do the front/side/back (with another mirror), presume that’s usual or pretty normal.
I realised today when trying to decide whether a top suited me or not, oh god, I did a sort of low pointing from the hip (arm stretched out) to see what I would look like wearing said top at work. Since when did I point at work?? I work in a v boring office, there are only 4 of us.
What poses do you S&B people do? Please tell me I’m not weird.

This made me giggle! I stand to the side sende pat my tummy area a lot. And everytime i catch myself doing it i think wtf am i doing, i never go around patting my tummy any other time!

Snooks1971 · 18/06/2020 22:30

I’ve seen DH do it too - not pointing - but stand in a strange way as if he’s a 16 yr old skateboarder, he’s 48.

God only knows what we look like (I don’t mean you duds) when going about our normal non-pointing, non-skateboarding middle aged business Confused

When my oh tries new clothes he stands like a 6 year olds waiting to have his pic taken. All chest out and arms straight down his sides.

EdinaMonsoon · 18/06/2020 22:46

I stand on my toes as though I'm pretending to wear high heels. I probably only wear high heels once a month, if that. No idea why I think it's necessary!

Instagrammers have the most annoying "trying on clothes poses". Usually: Hand on hip, walking back & forth and swaying from side to side, with their head cocked to one side. If that's how they go about their day they must look spectacularly odd Grin

@EdinaMonsoonthink I do that too sometimes (up on the toes) not the swaying. Never wear heels so wtf (why the f) am I pretending to, gah

If it’s a going-out top I put my arms in the air and dance a bit, to see how it would look when dancing!

Rhapsodyinpurple · 19/06/2020 08:27

This reminds me of the Michael McIntyre new suit sketch SmileGrin

I sit so I can see how tight the top is over my stomach. I have a massive muffin top anyway. If a top is a perfect fit when I'm standing, its usually too tight when I'm sitting!

EdinaMonsoon · 19/06/2020 09:25

@readwritelove 😆 I love that! I’m definitely going to try it out!

@wallybigboots I do the same thing with jeans & trousers. It’s all very well them being perfect when you stand but if they give you muffin top/camel toe/bum cleavage/stuffed sausage thighs when you sit they have to go back on the rail 😆

This made me laugh, a bit of silent dancing Grin

Lol at us all. I was laughing at instagrammers blowing kisses after prancing about for a bit just yesterday. DH always pretends to drive when he’s trying on shirts.

readwritelove · 19/06/2020 18:43

That made me laugh, Mulberry - pretending to drive?! That’s hilarious!

Snooks1971 · 19/06/2020 20:54

Me too - does he just wiggle the steering wheel about like they do on telly or does he change gear too? So funny! We are all crazy

Just the steering wheel! We do have an automatic though Wink
