Nursing bra with 30-inch band but not full cup?

Hello, I’m looking for suggestions.

I’m struggling to find a nursing bra to wear with my summer vests and dresses. I need a 30E which limits my options, and most seem to be full cup/full coverage ones which stick out the top of my clothes (despite none of my clothes being especially low-cut, maybe it’s because I’m petite). Does anyone have any suggestions for specific bras or where to look?

I love hotmilk bras. Wide range of sizes and styles

OhRosalind · 19/06/2020 17:35

Thanks, I have hotmilk and cake nursing bras which give a great shape under winter clothes, but they only seem to do a limited range in a 30 band, annoyingly.

Have you tried Figleaves? They tend to have a bigger selection than most places.

ItDoesntRhyme · 19/06/2020 18:56

Anita, they're in Amazon amongst other places.

KatharinaRosalie · 19/06/2020 20:37

Do you actually need a nursing bra? I discovered that it's actually not that difficult to simply slide the strap down and feed in a normal bra. And lot more to choose from.

These are really good but they aren’t in stock at the moment - I’m not sure if they are restocking you could check www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-fuller-bust-recycled-3-pack-microfibre-triangle-bra/prd/10655062?clr=multi&colourWayId=16296723&SearchQuery=microfibre%20bra

I also really like these and they have a low back which is nice. Neither is nursing but should be stretchy enough to work and no underwrites. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Women-Sexy-Seamless-Yoga-Sports-Bra-Crop-Top-Vest-Stretch-Bralette/264723289588?hash=item3da2bcd5f4:g:HvQAAOSwbRFebEmS

I had really nice panache nursing bras in a 28 band so worth a look Smile

BullshitVivienne · 19/06/2020 21:30

I just bought some new bras from somewhere that just sells nursing bras. I needed a larger cup than I could get in mainstream shops after finally measuring myself using boob or bust. Think they were called The Nursing Bra Shop.

BullshitVivienne · 19/06/2020 21:31

I realise that sounds like a planted advert for them! Why do I sound like a bot?

SpringSpringTime · 19/06/2020 21:44

I loved Cake bras. 30e when bf

OhRosalind · 20/06/2020 07:15

Thanks for all the suggestions! I already have Cake and hotmilk bras which are great under winter clothing but unfortunately the summer styles in my size come up too high on my chest for me to wear a vest - the same problem with figleaves, once you select a 30-inch band the choice narrows dramatically. This is the downside of learning (on mn) how to measure myself properly!

I will check out the nursing shop and your suggestions @Voodoorain

I tried using a non-nursing bra before and found it awkward to actually feed in, but I might give it another go, maybe with a softer cup or balconette style.

I'm a tricky bra size and just buy normal bras and add nursing clips. This kind of thing sewingchest.co.uk/index.php?cPath=168
Cut the strap at the front, Put strap through top part of clip and sew. Then use a scrap of ribbon to attach bottom of clip to bra.

WreckTangled · 20/06/2020 08:03

The panache Eleanor isn't as high as the others, it looks like most of the bras I currently wear with summer tops

OhRosalind · 20/06/2020 08:18

Thanks for the idea Oceany, that sounds doable.

I will look into the Eleanor, thanks for the tip.

Yes the trick with non-nursing bras is that they should be relatively low cut. Half cups work best.

OhRosalind · 20/06/2020 11:25

Great, I’m going to give that a try then if it doesn’t work check out some of these other options.
