Have you used Dermatica tretonoin 0.025% and hydroquinone?

I've just started last Saturday and I’m breaking out using it daily. So I had a night clear and only used one pump not two.

Did you use it daily straight away or just a couple of nights a week?.

Also, how long for the pigmentation to go?.

I've just started, on day 5 now I think. I've had one small breakout where I wouldn't normally expect it, otherwise skin just feels a bit dry compared to normal.
I've used retinol via the ordinary and beauty pie; so hopefully this isn't such a shock for my skin.

I'm interested to know how long before I see any improvement as can honestly say I've not seen anything to date with the ordinary or beauty pie retinoid products.

mrslebon · 13/06/2020 23:26

I definitely wouldn’t be using it daily. You need to build up usage so that your skin can adjust. I use it twice a week.

QualityFeet · 14/06/2020 00:46

I used it daily but skipped days when dry. It did get a bit scaly some days. That’s all gone now and whilst I would like to say that I am now a smooth skinned beauty I could only claim to be less zitty, pigmented and brighter.

Is this site legitimate?

How can they be selling prescription drugs with no prescription?

Also the page for entering credit card details doesn’t seem to be https - so not secure.

I really want this to be legitimate but don’t see how it can be.

Thighmageddon · 14/06/2020 06:46

This is fate I e seen this this morning, I was going to start a thread asking about how people find it and how much it costs a month.

QualityFeet · 14/06/2020 09:20

Certainly you get what you pay for every month.

HappyKatieA · 14/06/2020 10:58

I've worked my way up to 0.1% Tret in over a year, and for the last three prescriptions I've been on tret and hydroquinone. I love this combination, but at the beginning you may break out as it's bringing imperfections to the surface - or at least, that's what I read.
Don't go too fast, I started with twice a week for months, increased by a day a month etc.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2020 11:06

Well I applied it last night, layer of moisturiser, then the hydroquinone, then more cream. I won’t use it again till Tuesday. I’ve delayed my next sub till the end of July.

I've been on the same prescription for 6 weeks with no side effects but I have been using OTC Retinon since January. I use one pump twice a week.
@Fluffycloudland77 I'm sure I read that it should be applied to clean, dry skin then allowed to sink in for 30 minutes before applying moisturiser. Not sure why though.

cinammonbuns · 14/06/2020 12:32

@Stripesgalore you do get a prescription. It’s an online dermatologist.

It is not a scam or fake at all. I’ve been using them for 4 months.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/06/2020 13:33

In the instructions it said if you break out you can either layer with moisturiser or apply and wipe off after 45 minutes so I thought I’d try the cream thing before wiping it off.

I only have pigmentation because I had the contraceptive implant too which is really annoying.

I'm interested in other people's experiences with this so following along 😊 I've just received my consultation and have been given this prescription. Have been using retinol 1% for a number of years after months on Isotretinoin for adult acne so hoping my skin is pretty used to this sort of thing by now! Really hoping to avoid that initial breakout again and that this is thing that finally gets rid of the hyperpigmentatiom I was left with.

Stripesgalore · 15/06/2020 00:01

Thanks Cinnamon. I have signed up and they are sending me tret and niacinamide. I have used tret before so am hoping they will let me step up to the 0.05 after the first month.

cinammonbuns · 15/06/2020 06:32

@Stripesgalore they automatically move everyone to 0.05 after the first month Smile

OllyBJolly · 15/06/2020 13:30

I'm getting towards the end of my first month. I apply every night I think it might be beginning to fade my pigmentation. The only side effect is that I have a delicate patch just under my eye so I'm not putting it on that side of my face (pigmentation is mostly other side anyway).

I feel I need a really good moisturiser - any recommendations?

DarkDarkNight · 16/06/2020 23:00

If I have signs of ageing and acne which do I pick initially? Would I lean to anti-ageing because that might help with acne too?

I was considering Medik8 Breakout Defence and Age Repair and the Crystal Retinal but saw an ad for Dermatica on Facebook tonight.

Tillytess · 17/06/2020 17:37

Ive been using Dermatica Tret 0.025 and niacinamide for a month, every other night followed by a moisturiser. No issues or bad reaction, but no improvement as yet either (although does state this will take up to 3 months), Have just received month 2 and they have stepped up Tret to 0.05

mrslebon · 17/06/2020 23:01

@OllyBJolly - I use Dr Jart Ceramidin after tret and it’s excellent. You can usually get it with a discount from Look Fantastic - try 40PLUS20 (I haven’t tested the code but worth a shot).

Carrotgirl87 · 11/08/2020 21:02

hey just wondered how youre all doing? just started this prescription.. with the 4% HQ and im on day 4.... used everyday so far and no crazy reactions yet... think iv scared myself reading too many HQ horror stories online though so im not as confident as i was when i ordered it!! x

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/08/2020 21:13

I’m using it every couple of nights with 0.2% retinol the other nights, my foreheads nearly clear.

Just got the cheekbone areas now 😞 but no more breakouts. Only I could get pg mask hyperpigmention from the contraceptive implant 🤦🏻‍♀️ We don’t even need contraception I had it for heavy periods.

Resurrecting this just to see if anyone currently around has has any success with hydroquinone. Dark spot on my face requires attention.. Sad

Ballsaque · 16/04/2022 23:56

Dermatica has been the only thing that’s worked for my pigmentation. It was pretty bad on my cheeks and upper lip (again caused by contraception!).
I would say I could see a big improvement in 2 or 3 months.
I’m a year into it now and it’s almost completely disappeared,I can go out without foundation.
My formula has moved on to maintenance now. Very happy with it!

I would recommend 3 times a week building up to every other day. If ever my skin was randomly sore I skipped a day or two.
Also, some moisturiser I found stung really badly so I would recommend Cetaphil rich night cream which is soothing. It’s also fine to ‘bookend’ your treatment cream so Cetaphil/Dermatica/Cetaphil if you’re really dry.

Changemaname1 · 17/04/2022 00:03

It’s legit iv been using them for 2 years now no problems

It’s essentially using a private dermatologist service but consultation done online

To answer op , build up slowly , I did every other day to start , plenty of moisturiser , the tret can break you out at first . Stick with it though and increase the days you use it once you can . My skin has never been better

Changemaname1 · 17/04/2022 00:04

Sorry didn’t see this was an old thread !

KalaniM · 19/04/2022 20:20

ballsaque Thankyou that’s exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.
