are black converse too emo for a thirtysomething yr old???

i wanted to get navy ones but they only had black and as i had it in my mind that i simply had to have them, i bought the black. but now worrying i will look like an emo! and due to fact i dont now what really defines emo or what it means i must be far too old to go down that route! i like em do you think its ok?

I have red hi tops and I'm in my mid 30's, although I confess when I tell people I was a goth in my youth, they always say they're not surprised. Don't know what that tells you.

Scene have the emo hair girls normally back comb it to make it look really big and then wear normally really bright colours
Rockers Are Into Really Heavy Metal Etc. Normally with long hair on guys band t-shirt and either really baggy or really skinny jeans =]
